When you're sitting at a table full of people (pref. boisterous and social) but you're between two conversations, and no matter how hard you try, you can't seem to get into either of them.
So you end up staring at your drink.
"Hey Rod, why so quiet?"
"Wha--? Oh sorry -- I'm stuck in the nonversation over here."

A completely worthless conversation, wherein nothing is illuminated, explained or otherwise elaborated upon. Typically occurs at parties, bars or other events where meaningful conversation is nearly impossible.
Smith: What a waste of time it is talking to that guy.
Jones: I know, every time I do, it's like a complete nonversation.
The type of conversation held with another person when you really do not wish to talk to them. It consists of short and to the point replies which do not add to the conversation and make it hard for the other person to continue. A typical nonversation goes as follows-
"So how are you today?"
"What have you been up to?"
A nonversation is simply a conversation with someone who you do not wish to talk with, therefore using as many one word answers as possible, hoping that they get the hint.
Librarian: So hav you read many books this year?
Librarian: Oh...did you at least finish that book set for your school project?
Librarian: Did it take you long?
Schoolboy: about a week......i gtg (runs really fast in opposite direction)
Schoolboy: Man...that was the worst nonversation i evr had!
Friend: Really i find the librarian really nice to talk with
(all other kids stare)
When two people are speaking but neither side of the conversation has anything to do with the other.
Woman, "Hey, hows' it goin'?"
Man, "Not too bad."
Woman, "Did you get a haircut?"
Woman, "Looks good."
A conversation where tons is said but no one actually speaks.
"I had and awesome goodbye with Travis yesterday. He gave me his computer and then we had one of those good solid man moment where everything gets said but no one's talking. I call it a nonversation."

1) When a group of people talk thoroughly about surreal scenarios that wouldn't ever happen, but the way they talk make it seem plausible and important, like Zombie Survival Plans and What To Do When The Dinosaurs Come Back
