a tangle of wires and other assorted guts of the technological kind which intertwine to make, hence the name, a nest that looks like that of a bird's nest. Often found in cramped, small rooms containing many gaming consoles.

A tangled cluster of wires resembling a bird's nest, usually but not necessarily found at the back of a computer.
I tried to unplug my old mouse, but its such a nerd's nest back there that my speakers came unplugged.
