50. Elton John
Reginald Kenneth Dwight "Elton John". Is an amazingly talented Piano Player. He is highly respected by millions. Others choose to hate him, because he is a Homosexual. Personally, I don't think that his sexual orientation effects his talent to play the piano. Everyone knows atleast one famous Elton John song; Elton John is a legend.
Some songs by Elton John are, Your Song, Candle in the Wind, Circle of Life, Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer. Just to name a few.
51. Alateen
A fellowship of kids, usually teenagers, whose lives have been affected by someone's else's drinking. Alateen is a safe place where kids can come together to share and recover from the effects of living with the problem drinking of a relative or friend.

The only requirement of membership is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend.

Alateen's program of recovery is adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and is based upon the Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, and the Twelve Concepts of Service. It is not a religious organization, though some groups may meet in churches.

What Alateen members learn:
*compulsive drinking is a disease.
*they can detach themselves emotionally from the drinker's problems while continuing to love the person.
*they are not the cause of anyone else's drinking or behavior.
*they cannot change or control anyone but themselves.
*they have spiritual and intellectual resources with which to develop their own potentials, no matter what happens at home.
*they can build satisfying and rewarding life experiences for themselves.
At first John was unsure when his friend Jim asked him to come to the Alateen meeting, thinking it was a relgious cult. What John found there, however, were other teenagers whom he could relate to. Not all of them listened to the same music, but he found he could relate to what they were going through and he found tools to deal with living with an alcoholic. After several meetings he began to feel less alone.
52. PW Gene
In relation to the Liv Syndrome.
The PW gene acts as a kind of upgrade to the Liv Syndrome, although its effects are unpredictable. At times its shown to actually cure the Liv Syndrome temporarily for anything from 30secs to 3 minuites(Length of an orgasm), but more likely, it could have permanent mental damage.
It can also act as a carrier to the Male gender, although its effects between male and female differentiate.

The gene orginates in crackwhores who live in liverpool. Its actual origins are unknown to us (But S.W.4.R.M are investigating as this is a crisis we wish to solve). Once the crackwhore has its offspring, Its effect on male and female genders differ.

Male: The added tendency to love superman, loner, thinks he knows alot, threatens without purpose, is afraid of S.W.4.R.M (The gene is self aware and self sustaining)

Female (Adolescent)(Without Liv Syndrome): Tendency to listen to bad music (Backstreet boys), Uncontrollable sexual fantasies, is afraid of S.W.4.R.M (The gene is self aware and self sustaining), Acts religous, works in argos.

Female (Fully Grown)(Without Liv Syndrome): Desire to have multi couple relationships, Addiction to KJ jelly.

Female (Adolescent)(With Liv Syndrome): The need to intercource multiplies 5 fold due to the need to reach a euphoria and escape a reality.

53. phil collins
Superb songsmith, writer and drummer.

Created and performed songs back when music was good. Much immitated however went from loved by everyone in the 80's and 90's to 'unfashionable to like' in the latter part of the 90s up until today - the reason being that most people on earth are an impressionable bunch of idiots who are controlled by the media and rubbish like the Sun Newspaper. Why does a mans lovelife effect how people enjoy his music? Fickle bunch of twats.
010101_bot - you say that Phil has vocal aids and the drum solo on air tonight was created by a drum machine? So how do you explain Phil performing the drum solo every single live performance? Is that done with holographic projectors? I suppose the drum duet on the 'we cant dance' live DVD is done with strings or effects handled by industrial light and magic? You complete imbecile!

As for the voice, you speak horse shit there my friend as well. Watch any live phil collins dvd or any dvd and you'll find the vocals arent corrected. Echo and reverb is commonplace on 1980s albums - do your research...

In all seriousness if I dont like an artist or performer I don't go searching forums i know i dislike to get on forums to go 'you know that artist you like well i have decided in my own opinionated little world that he is bollocks.'
54. psychedelic
A more formal term originally used to describe something that seems inspired by a mind-altering drug, or the effects of the drug itself. Drugs classified as "psychedelic" include marijuana and LSD.

More commonly now, since the age of psychedelia ended in the early-70s, the term is used solely to describe things that seem inspired by or seem to replicate the experience of mind-altering drugs. The term is most often applied to art that utilizes bright colours and bizarre patterns or music that uses strange, non-standard timing signatures, keys, chords, and the like. The term is somewhat synonymous with trippy.
Dude, I was tripping balls last night and it was so psychedelic!

Some of Pink Floyd's music sound really psychedelic.

Most of Andy Warhol's art is really psychedelic.
55. progressive rock
A genre of music that combines forms of jazz and classical all under the umbrella of rock. Progressive rock is generally distinguished by its use of nonstandard timings, chords, keys, and effects, as well as utilizing other effects that are not generally found in popular music, like feedback.

A common misconception about progressive rock is that it's nothing more than music to listen to when you get stoned, which is not true. Sure, it may be considered trippy or psychedelic, but by no means was it written by or for stoners. In fact, the level of complexity in some progressive rock songs is surprising.

Another misconception of progressive rock is that it's just noise thrown together to sound vaguely like music. This is also not true, or for most bands at least.

Pink Floyd is generally considered to be the first and best progressive rock band of all time, and is defined by their career during the 70s

56. goth
Ok, here's my definition...
Someone who is not affraid to be different, listens to rock style music (usually metal, gothic rock, goth punk, alternative etc) and does not wish to be popular. They have creative talents and are usualy completely missunderstood.

Having trawled through the other definitions on this site, i have found things which i dissagree with. Just because someone labels themself goth, does not mean that they are a fake, or a posser. If someone wears black nail polish eyeliner etc, this also does not make them posser goth. It just means that that is how they wish to look and this is what goth means to them.

Also, music is something which we can debate. a goth can listen to any band they like, you cannot say that because someone who calls themself a goth, listens to manson, then they are not a "real" goth, thats stupid. manson is a goth. the whole band are goths. so, therefore, a goth band. other bands like HIM, have been debated. HIM are a goth band, no matter what you say. Ville Valo is a goth. He writes gothic lyrics. All of the songs are of a gothic style. again, a goth band, which ever way you look at them. Deathstars are a personal favorite of mine, they are also goth. ofcourse, having said that a goth can listen to any music, i do need to contradict myself. a goth that listens to r and b would be just damn riddiculous.
