12. Windows
One of several pieces of software from Microsoft:

1. Windows 1.0 was a graphical shell that allowed the user of an IBM PC to have several MS-DOS programs running at the same time, sharing the screen through viewports called "windows," hence the name. It was released after the first Apple Macintosh computer, and most users did not install it because it required too much memory. MS-DOS was an operating system that could only have one application open at any given time, and those applications could only access up to 640 kilobytes of RAM. Files stored by it had names consisting of eight characters, a dot, and three more characters, and certain characters, such as spaces, were not allowed. TEXTFILE.TXT was a typical DOS filename.

2. ~ 3.0 was a graphical shell that also had dynamic library support, a feature normally built into an operating system. Applications had to be written "for" ~, almost as if it was an operating system. It did things on behalf of applications, like an operating system. It was started from DOS as an application, and exiting ~ returned the user to DOS. Instead of folders, there were program groups, where programs had to be explicitly placed. Placement of a program in the Program Groups typically involved telling ~ the complete path to the program executable (ie, "C:\COREL\WP.EXE")

3. ~ 95 was a graphical shell that was booted directly by DOS, so that it appeared to be the entire operating system. It imitated the look and feel of a Macintosh. It ...

13. Psytrance
Psychedelic trance, often referred to as psytrance, is a form of trance music that developed from goa trance in the early 1990s. Trance generally has a fast tempo, in the range 140 to 150 beats per minute (bpm). The emphasis in Psychedelic is placed strongly on purely synthesized timbres in terms of programming and lead melodies. The original Goa trance was often made with popular Modular synthesizers and hardware samplers, but the preference in Psychedelic trance has moved to sample manipulation and storage in VST and AU software sampler applications, for instance Native Instruments Kontakt. The use of analog synthesizers for sound synthesis has given way to digital "virtual analogue" instruments like the Nord Lead, Access Virus, Korg MS-2000, Roland JP-8000 and computer VST and AU plugins like Native Instruments Reaktor. These are usually controlled by host commercial sequencer applications such as Logic and Cubase. Completely software-based algorithms and studios are also increasingly popular in commercial sequencer applications and other self-contained modular applications e.g. Propellerheads Reason and Fruity Loops.

Psytrance is most popular in the UK, Israel, Mexico, Germany, Japan, Australia, Brazil, South Africa, Serbia and Montenegro, Netherlands, and Goa. The genre is not as well known outside its "scene" as anthem or progressive trance is.
some of the most popular psytrance artists ever:

Infected Mushroom, Astral Projection, GMS, Hallucinogen, and California Sunshine

14. canon crashing
Fanfiction term for when a Mary Sue or Gary Stu or self-insert not only enters a story and becomes Ms/Mr. Wonderful, but the entire story centers around said Mary Sue or Gary Stu bashing or insulting the canon characters to accomplish its own superiority.

Derived from the terms "party crashing" and "gate crashing," in their meanings of unwanted access to an event by someone who should not be present.
The following passage from a fanfiction that shall be nameless illustrates canon crashing.

Wolfwood looked at her. “Absolutely not! Vash and I are going after a man who just blew up the Second Moon!”

“Which is why,” a deep baritone voice thundered as a huge hand reached down and easily lifted the heavy cross up, “this should be left to us professionals!”

Wolfwood turned about to see Harrisburg holding his Punisher up with one hand. It popped open and deployed its machine gun.

“My, you’re a big one,” he said with a wide grin on his face and sweat rolling off his brow.

Harrisburg grunted. “Nice box gun you have here mister… Let’s go.”
