One that listens to all the Metal genre. Metal heads can and could be classified as a typical down to earth person, when turned upon are dangerous and can be harmful as the music they listen to can be the drive for adrenaline and fury when needed. Clothing can range from old to new styles or a combination of the 2. Old can be seen as blue jeans and leather jackets while as the new holding on to the band T-shits or jackets to dark pants as in between light blue pants with dark colored T-shirts. Always doing there own thing most verbal conflict does not effect can usaully hold temper in and burts it all out in an effective act of compulsion and agression, often times scares the the opposer and shows of the "No Fear" attitude. Knows when and what they are Capable when they knwo they can lose a fight they will jump in anyway to show how they will not back down. Can take a beating even if they are weak. Small i numbers but can take on multiple waves of people on there own with no regards for the stakes at risk. Very protective of there friends and can and will die for them when threatened. Despises most cultures "Emo, Pop, some Metal heads dislike hardcore(for reasons of the style of mosh is 'fighting invisible ninjas' or common rivalry between the genres as hardcore kids out number the metal heads)". Open to all ideas and is very conservative on most things. Truely unique people for they can differ from most personalities ranging from hyper and agressive to calm and faint. not many in skools or even out since the musichas died since the ninities, listens to most underground music of the genre and is always looking for new bands to get there hands on and headbang to (will even show there affection for thetre music even if not listening to it and will use lil head wips to as the song is stuck in there head)
slipknot, korn, dream theater, skidrow, slayer, anthrax, Dimmu borgir, Cradle of Filth, Soulfly, Soilwork, In flames etc. (various from artist to artist as metal heads have different opinions)

metal head
ANYONE who listens to and loves real metal regardless of how they dress or act or fight. "Metal Head" talks about ones music interests and not their personality.

A metalhead is a human male OR female who listens to (heavy) metal music. Metalheads are not characterized by the way they look; rather, they are characterized by the music they listen to. Most metalheads enjoy attending metal concerts and participating in activities such as moshing, headbanging, crowd surfing, etc. during these shows.

Metalheads tend to dislike or despise mainstream music because it usually defies what they stand for. They also tend to dislike people who are closed-minded, stereotypes, and especially the belief that metalheads are drunk, high, or Satanists. They often enjoy metal because of its unadhering, free, wild, I-don't-give-a-fuck lyrics and sound.

Metalheads also tend to listen to not ALL kinds of metal, but certain subgenres. They may also bash other subgenres of metal that they dislike or see as “rivals”. There are many different subgenres of metal.

A stereotypical metalhead will often wear boots, denim, band shirts, long hair, leather, band patches, and generally ratty clothing. Metalheads can also dress glamorously. Many metalheads are difficult to pick out from the general population because they look very similar or look the same as other humans.

Metalheads are not:
- Emos
- Goths
- Rivetheads (though they may be considered to be similar)
- Satanists (USUALLY)
- Stupid (USUALLY)
- Addicted to drugs (USUALLY)
- Alcoholics (USUALLY)

The following examples are all fictional.
Aleksi (m): 24-year-old Finnish university student with an interest in the occult. Listens to bands such as Epica, Kamelot, After Forever, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Nightwish, etc.

Catrina (f): 16-year-old high school student who watches Metalocalypse and is a dedicated listener to all kinds of metal, especially death metal and thrash metal. Listens to Cannibal Corpse, Death, Anthrax, Morbid Angel, Obituary, Possessed, and Children of Bodom.

Lucifer (m): 19-year-old Norwegian black metal musician and high school dropout who is part of a metal band and regularly attends black metal shows. Listens to Mayhem, Burzum, Emperor, Darkthrone, and Dimmu Borgir.

Nina (f): poser attempting to capitalize on the metalhead image. Only listens to nu-metal bands such as Linkin Park, System of a Down, Korn, and Slipknot. Calls herself a metalhead when she's actually not.

considerening now, because of all these different but very good subgenres of metal, i don't even know anymore!!!it is used to describe the dedicated and true metal fan.sadly we now judge some person just because they like slipknot.look im a fan of all metal genres and i just need to say it:we have turned against each other. in the very begining it was about the music & fandom & that was all.Now we are all in disarray, pitted against one and other.heavy,nu,traditional, or whatever other subgenres that came into the picture, deep down all thesegenres end with one word: METAL!
as long as you love the music, appreciate ALL the subgenres, and let the music flow through you,you are a metalhead.

My opinion of what a metalhead really is: a person who is a dedicated fan of metal music. And I mean ALL types of metal. Whether it be nu-metal, metalcore, deathcore, black metal, heavy metal, symphonic metal, death metal, thrash metal, Swedish metal, hell, even folk metal from different countries like South Africa.

You don't have to have long hair, wear black all the time, and whatever. Metal should be a way of thinking and a way of life, not who is more of a "true" metalhead because they don't listen to Slipknot because they are nu-metal and that equals fail. You should be glad they are listening to Slipknot which is some form of metal, instead of Fall Out Boy or something.

True Metalheads learn to appreciate ALL FORMS/SUB-GENRES OF METAL. Being glad that at lease they are listening to metal, and also teach the newbies who honestly want to learn new metal bands and learn to love Metal and at lease appreciate ALL of its Sub-genres.

Also metalheads should accept other metalheads from different backgrounds, whether race, color, creed, religion, culture or whatever country your from. We are one big brotherhood and we all love metal, and that should be good enough!

Cause alot of us may have well started with those bands way back then.
Metalheads should be open to or have some sort of respect for the sub-genres of metal, because they all cam from other Heavy Metal bands. And one should be glad they are listening to some sort of metal instead of mainstream crap.

But it doesn't rule out you can nicely correct the newbies for their mistakes in the wrong genres for the band and so on.
They have to be corrected to learn.
