1. (Fag-longboarding)The act of riding upon a long, flat board with large wheels designed for a longer distance per revolution. Longboarding is considered extremely gay/faggish by the skateboarding community. A longboard is often combined with an off kilter hat, flip flops or "skate" shoes from a local sports equipment provider, and vibrantly colored boardshorts, no matter the season. Typical longboarders are 10-14 years of age, just entering the "annoying and gay" phase of puberty. They will continually recollect with to others with ridiculous exaggeration regarding the large hills they have bombed and how steezy, gnarly, or radical it was. These longboarders travel in groups of 3-5 children with which to share their gnarly hill shredding experiences with during which they travel estimably 3 miles per hour down a gradual decline, and once the bottom is reached they pick their longboards up and walk to the top of the hill.

2. (longboarding) Once a proper longboard tuck is achieved, the rider can achieve great speeds and the act of longboarding is then deemed awesome. It is quite easy to discern fag-longboarding from longboarding.

Longboarding is a way of life. When you longboard the earth stops spinning. Many people refer to it as a sport, but its life.

The fastest expanding form of skateboarding. Contrary to popular belief, the sport is greatly expansive beyond bros in board shorts (sadly, these are the most vocal assholes who own longboards, but are not necessarily longboarders). Disciplines include downhilling (trying to go as fast as possible, serious practitioners will wear leathers and full face helmets), freeriding (essentially doing slides and tricks combined with anything downhill, mostly done for fun), and freestyle (emulating shortboard tricks on larger decks). As the downhill riding community is starting to go mainstream, a proper comparison to regular short boards would be that of downhill/freestyle mtb to bmx; while both may have the same forms and ideas supporting them, their applications are greatly different and require skills respective to each, and thusly the similarities in said forms are not necessarily applicable to the ways they are used. Basically, regarding all the hate those who enjoy riding street/ park on a shortboard: don't worry about how other people are having fun and just enjoy what you do (I will say, if you wear flip flops while "skating" or ride a pintail cruiser, please; just stop).

Like a cross between surfing and skateboarding, but 10 times as kickass, longboarding involves a long board from 30' to 49' long, on average. Longboarding down big hills can put you at 50 MPH, and falling will be really bloody. Carving is the main movement in longboarding, and involves leaning to turn and slow down while bombing a hill.
