Heavily Inspired by The Beatles They Set out to Develop a style of music first heard on the Beatles 'I am the Walrus' combining Rock and Classical elements. They recorded their Self Titled first album in 1971,an uneven affair With the band still trying to find their sound but did produce the UK hit "10538 Overture" shortly after this Roy Wood Left the band and Formed Wizzard who had a more radio friendly sound and Jeff Lynne stepped up to lead the band (the first album was released with the mistaken title of No Answer in the USA, due to a mix-up with an uncompleted telephone call to the American label.

2. Orchestrock
Orchestrock is (to put it simply) a combination of Rock instruments (heavy guitar, drums ect ect) played with a live orchestra.

The occurance of this type of music has been rising as of late, and a first example that would come to mind would (at least) be Nobou Uematsu's "Black Winged Angel" with his own band "The Black Mages" for the CGI movie "FFVII- Advent Children".
Hey man, this Orchestrock is amazing!
What the fuck are you?, insane???, Slayer is obviously better :|
3. Kaizer's Orchestra
Kaizer's Orchestra is a Norweigan rock band. The sextet is known for their unique sound and amazing live shows, which often involve playing on empty oil drums. Their lyrics deviate from the usual themes of love and relationships, and tend to lean more toward themes of revenge, russian roulette, and fighting. Many of their songs are also about certain characters, who tend to show up in several songs on an album. One of the most common symbols of the band is a gas mask, an article which is always worn by one member of the band.
The cry of fans at a Kaizer's Orchestra concert: Save me Kaizer!
4. karaoke
Singing without a live orchestra or band. Originally meaning "without orchestra," it is a combination of Japanese "kara" meaning "empty/bare-handed" as in "karate", and the "okee" sound from the first syllable of "orchestra" as pronounced by Japanese.
The guy who thought up karaoke created a bar owner's dream, because as patrons provide their own entertainment by singing along with a machine, management saves a fortune by not hiring talented musicians.
