Living on the edge means living a dangerous and/or unusual everyday life. People who live on the edge are very frequently exposed to phisical, psycological, economical, lawful or other kinds of dangers.

Examples for people who live on the edge:
Extreme-sportsmen, gamblers, policemen, thiefs, human-rights-activists, rappers, etc.

Its where the badasses tend to live life.

Jim Morrison was a truly remarkable guy. He was the son of a Navy Admiral, brought up in the same kind of middle-class comfort that he (and many others)sought, and still seek, to rebell against. In short, Jim was prepared to go over the edge to follow what he believed to be his true path. He had the courage to forsake the safety of his life and choose the stormy waters to sail into. He did not compromise. Ever. But he paid the ultimate price. But for people like Jim, there is no old age or retirement. Only immortality. And that would be ruined if he was now an old wash-out like that other legend Brando faded into. Sadly Jim was flawed, like all of us. the difference was that his flaw (alcoholisim) was used to vilify him and prosecute him by a society that (in the 1960's) was terrifyed of what him and his ilk stood for.

Doing something unexpected or memorable, especially outside of your comfort zone, such as literally tossing a snake at someone, or just streaking across a football field. Just anything that will let you look back on your life later on and say "Yes. I am glad I did that shit."

Leaving a minor streak on the toilet paper after deficating. Not wiping for a full clean so to speak. Performed only by the few that choose to live life on the edge.

A system of planets, asteroids and comets orbiting an average sized, middle aged yellow star on the edge of one of the Milky Way Galaxies outermost spiral arms. And central star; whereas most systems are just named for their main star. For example: The Vegan Star System’s main star is Vega.
