Kurt Cobain was born February 20, 1967, to his father, (an auto mechanic,) and his mother, (a cocktail waitress.) He was born in the town of Hoquaim, a small town only 140 kilometers from Seattle. The Cobain's then moved to Aberdeen, WA. Kurt's parents divorced when he was a child and with his parents divorce came feelings of depression, anti-sociality, and angst. Throughout his school years, Kurt was precieved as an outsider by his classmates and often distanced himself from them. In 1986, Nirvana was formed after a slew of failed bands were dead. Nirvana consisted of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and numerous drummers inclulding Chad Channing and his permanent replacement Dave Grohl. In 1989, Nirvana recorded it's first album, intitled Bleach, for the local label, Sup Pop Records. In 1991, The David Geffen company bought out Nirvana's contract, and the band was signed to Geffen Records. Two and a half years after the release of their first album, Bleach, Nirvana released thier second album, and their most popular, Nevermind. It left a lasting impression on the mainstream music scene. To it's listeners, Nirvana was a breath of fresh air, pulling itself aside from the then stale pop music scene. Nevermind brought in over $550 million dollars, leaving Nirvana "overnight millionares." It was clear that Kurt did not enjoy the fame and publicity and was not going to cope well with their newly acclaimed Rock and Roll lifestyle. Cobian began to use heroin in the early 90's, he claimed to use Herion to calm the pain of his extremely painful stomach disease, that to this day, is unclassified. In 1992, Nirvana released Incesticide and Kurt married the allready pregnant Courtney Love, (their daughter Frances Bean Cobain was born in 1993.) In 1993, Nirvana released In Utero, their most emotional and meaningful album to date. Nirvana later filmed Unplugged for MTV. It was an all acoustic preformance, that inclulded some of Nirvana's smash hits, but most of their lesser known songs, as well as some covers of Nirvana's favorite bands. Unplugged was the last live preformance that Nirvana had before Kurt Cobain died in 1994. Many speculate that Kurts death was suicide, other's blame his wife, Courtney Love, for his murder. Either way, his fans will remember him forever. His music will never die.
Kurt Cobain, in my oppinion is one of the most talented songwriters in music history. His voice is infectious and completely unique. I know that he will never be forgotten.

All bands are overrated by their most passionate fans. Beautiful AND talented people in the music industry are overrated all the time considering that ugly and talented people aren't as popular. Dead artists' creations are also easily overrated due to the limited production possibilities among other things.
But just because KURT COBAIN may be an artist who is so easy to overrate doesn't mean that he wasn't an EXTREMELY good songwriter, musician and artist. The fact that he died under such tragic circumstances (whatever the reason was) naturally lead to publicity which meant that even more people got to know of Nirvana's existence but publicity alone creates no new fans. The music actually has to be good for people to listen to it. People who have NOT listened to Kurt's music have no right or possibility to know exactly WHY others do listen to Nirvana but to assume it's because of the "coolness-factor", which many seem to do, is really naive. Nirvana has not been "cool" for a very long time because according to mainstream-belief mainstream-music cannot possibly be neither cool nor good. And I'd say that Nirvana, despite its non-mainstream genre and image, can be classified as quite a mainstream-band (thinking of numbers, hits, sold albums etc). Only insecure, unopinionated, dumb people listen to music to achieve some certain kind of status.
The reasons for loving or hating Kurt himself (or even worse: Courtney Love) on the other hand, seem much more superficial and badly argued than those for loving the music and are often based only on the image of him/her created by the media.
Hey! Wait!
I've got a new complaint:
Let those who have heard only "Smells like teen spirit" and "Come as you are" love them if they want to. Why should it bother people, it's that person who is missing out on the best music that the 90's had to offer, and that's punishment enough.
2 Kurt Cobain: Your music will live forever. I love it. I love it.

one of the greatest musicians of all time, whos life was cut WAY too short because of his wife Courtney Love, who was mad because he was divorcing her and taking her out of his will. She should have been the one to die, shes worthless anyways.
Kurt cobain- rock god

The great frontman for a great band, Nirvana. Was made a legend, whether he liked it or not. Excellent songwriter, nice guy, ok singer, ok guitarist. He in the end was driven to suicide by the strains on his shy, reserved personality that the rock-god life had.
Seriously, stop worshipping the man. He just wanted people to leave him to live a happy life, to not be stalked by fans and paparazzi 24/7. He wasn't "perfect." He had severe drug problems, which probably contributed to his suicide. There was his dumb feud with Axl Rose. And he wasn't a "prophet." He didn't view himself as one.
RIP Kurt Cobain. You will be missed.

Kurt Donald Cobain, was the singer for one of the biggest bands in the world of its time. Kurt Cobain was Lead Guitar in "Niravan". Kurt cobain played music for the love of playing music. He dident dress, act, or do anything that would make it seem like he played music for Money or Fame. Kurt Dident let his fame go to his head. He wore what he wore and said what he said. People who call kurts msuic "Grunge" is not cool. Kurt hated the term "Grunge" to be applied to his music. "I hate that term, Grunge, Its just making us no better then say, Guns N' Roses. I made my music to be different, even though my insperations were punk related. The Melvens. Made we want to play music. I want my music to be punk rock thats not all about how much i could drink at a party" Kurt Said in an interview. So Kurt Cobaine, was a good man. so what if he did drugs. If you think that hes bad because he did drugs, Get all your fucking CDS and RECORDS and Burn the fuckers! because if you think that all those musicians who have changed your lives are all clean. your fuckign rong!
Kurt Donald Cobain. Lead guitar of Nirvana. Father of a baby girl names "Frances Bean Cobain", married to that bitch Courtney Love.
