Jamari or JaMaari means ‘good looks, beauty’. This is a bit of a stretch however, because JaMaari is more or less a modern invention with no specific meaning, simply created by putting sounds together that parents found appealing for their little boys. Jamari is also the name of a river in western Brazil, although it’s not clear where it gets its name (either from the Portuguese or from the indigenous Indians who dwelled there first).
