The best web browser around, maybe even ever. Comes pre-installed with Windows, and has awesome features built into it, such as a popup blocker, private browsing, and link scanning. Definitely the top of the line in terms of technology, compared to its rivals.

Competitors include Firefox, Opera, and Google Chrome, but they all take up way too much memory, and have a bunch of useless "add-ons" that you have to install just to do basic stuff such as block popups. These addons frequently cause browser crashes, and become outdated whenever the browser updates. IE8 comes with all of these features from the start, and the addons it has never cause problems. Internet Explorer can also view 99% of all websites with no problem, while these other guys are incompatible with half of the websites out there.

Some douches out there will dis Internet Explorer, but usually these guys are just butthurt Mac fans who are jealous of Microsoft's popularity - so don't listen to them, Internet Explorer is the best.
Retarded Firefox user: "Internet Explorer sucks compared to Firefox - Firefox has this cool addon that lets me watch gay porn while listening to Boy George music in the same window... (addon crashes) ... AAAGGHHHH!!!

Smart IE8 user: Wow, grow a brain idiot. Don't be jealous just 'cause you got suckered into buying a Mac and got stuck with Firefux as your default browser. Internet Explorer kicks ass.

A web browser for use on Windows platforms. There was once a version for Apple Mac users, but this has been discontinued. Receives a bad reputation from open-source proponents because of perceived flaws and errors in its rendering engine; is the target of much abuse from these proponents, whom are often zealous of Mozilla Firefox to the point of fanaticism.

These zealots often seem ignorant of basic computer security, believing that Firefox will prevent viruses and spyware from infecting their computers, when in fact, Firefox is merely a browser and is not a universal panacea. If Internet Explorer is coupled with the freely-available security updates, it becomes as secure and more stable than Firefox.

Although it may lack the bells and whistles of other browsers, as an internet browser, Internet Explorer performs its job adequately.
I used Internet Explorer today to browse UrbanDictionary.com.

A browser, that, while at first sight might appear open to spyware, will be just as resiliant as alternatives such as Mozilla if you take the time to secure it correctly.
As a stubborn IE user, I have not recieved one piece of spyware on this machine yet.

Microsoft's internet browser included with Windows systems. Faster at loading up than other browsers like Firefox and Netscape which take fucking ages. As an internet browser, it works and does its job.

Can be insecure with its default settings, but tieing them down virtually eliminates some, if not all of the security problems that people complain about. Unfortunately the reputation for spyware comes from dumb users who download shite like smiley central or are dumb enough to "YES" or "OK" to everything that pops up on screen.

Bashed by geeky open source zealots and Mozilla anoraks frequently who often over-exaggerate the truth in order to push their alternative.
IE is safe if you tie down its default security settings. I have NEVER had any malicious programs install automatically.
