An idea concerning the earth's origins that states that the known universe is too complex to have evolved randomly, which is what the theory of evolution teaches. Its' critics (95% of whom call themselves atheists) slam it as being "Not science" or "A loony back door way for the Christians to try and ram religion down kids' throats". The irony is that these same people, when arguing for their belief, will mostly defend it with the theory of evolution.
I.D critics think that everyone who follows intelligent design is a Christian moron with no grasp on the real world, yet there are numerous scientists with no particular religious belief who see value in I.D. If its' such a load of crap I don't know why the atheist brigade are getting so paranoid about it? They should be encouraging schools to teach it along with evolution, kids are smart these days. Then at least when they're adults and they want to rubbish I.D they'll actually have some knowledge of it, instead of being like all the narrow-minded people don't want to see it explored as a theory at all because it challenges their faith that everything in this world is a random occurence.

1.pseudoscientific argument from incredibility, presented as a counter to evolutionary theory.
"I don't understand how this could have happened naturally; therefore, God did it. - Stand argument for Intelligent design.

An excuse creationists use to try to justify creation in the light of modern scientific discoveries. It makes as much logical sense as saying my big toe knows the meaning of life. I can't prove it because my toe can't talk but you can't disprove it for the same reason.
If God did the whole "intelligent design" thing then why are Christians so stupid.

something that i dont believe in. i mean, if intelligent design is real, then why do we guys have nuts on thoe outside of our body in a place that is easily accessable?!?!?!WHY?!?
Today I was sack tapped and fell on the floor clutching at my nuts thinking: WHAT THE HELL?! THERE IS NO WAY THAT INTELLIGENT DESIGN IS INTELLIGENT!

Creationism masquerading as science. Asserts that the universe is too complex to have come about on its own and must have been designed by some intelligent being (we are, of course, to assume this being is God).

This is the argument from incredulity, which can be restated as, "I don't understand how this happened, so God must've done it." It may satisfy some, until we actually do understand how something happens and no longer need God as an explanation.

The Intelligent Design movement is actually an agenda of the Discovery Institute, a Young Earth Creationist organization devoted to evangelizing by spreading misinformation about such things as the theory of evolution. In their leaked "wedge document," they detail a plan to insert Intelligent Design as an alternative to the theory of evolution in public school science curriculums. This, they believe, will stem the dissemination of accurate scientific information in favor of ideas that don't contradict their beliefs.

By removing the religious trappings of creationism (they are careful not to mention the Christian God, Jesus, or the Bible), they hold Intelligent Design up as genuine science. Apparently they've never bothered to check the definition of "science," since it mentions things like falsifiable hypotheses, evidence, stuff like that. Intelligent Design is pseudoscience and a real danger to education in the U.S.
ID proponents want Intelligent Design taught in science classes instead of evolution, not alongside it. They may claim only a desire for fairness, but that's only the beginning. If we let ID into our classrooms, they won't stop there.

An idea by people living in total ignorance. Instead of doing proper research and looking for imperical evidence, ID supporters look through the pages of the Bible for already answered questions. This might indicate the well observed "since I can't understand it it can't be true"-syndrome.

The other alternative might be the simple desire for convinience. ID-supporters don't want to write 6 page essays about how the cell works, just to be graded 3/5, but rather "God did it and that's fine by me" and getting 5/5.
Intelligent Design puts the ID in IDiot.

IDiots often say "Evolution is just a theory." In the scientific field a hypothesis (which is the word they're looking for) becomes a scientific theory when the hypothesis is so well established that no new evidence is likely to alter it, after which the explanation or hypothesis becomes a scientific theory.

A theory that evolution is wrong, and the world was created and maintained by Mr.Chuck Norris. This is almost certainly true, the only flaw may be the fact that Chuck Norris has not roundhouse kicked the idiot christians who say intelligent design is about god's heads up there asses.....yet.
Idiot Christian: Intelligent design is about god. Wait why is the door open?

(roundhouse kick like noise)

Idiot Christian: OH MY GOD!! AGHHHHH GAHGG ALEGRA! (dies)

A scientific...oh, what the heck am I saying. It really is poppycock.
Sorry guys. I now realize that Intelligent Design is as stupid as you say it is. But don't you dare tell me "I told you so."
