Speaking hyperthetically is when one projects future scenarios based on imminent or impending hyper-inflation in one's economy. Tommy and Tamara sat at their dinner table that sultry August by the banks of the Shannon and chatted hyperthetically. By the end of the night they had decided that once the hyper-inflation hit the economy they would pay off their mortgage at a stroke and then leave the area and set up a travelling theatre company specialising in ancient Greek masked drama and the plays of Aristophenes, Sophocles, Aeschylus and so forth.
