A small town in San Benito County. While this town has hicks who wear light denim jeans and ride pickup trucks, there is a good amount of culture and cool kids who inhibit the area. The only thing to do is hang out at the coffee shop, but that's not so bad because Hollister has a plethora of local high school bands that play there. And they're also not half bad. There is only one high school(San Benito High) bearing the mascot Hank the Haybaler. Everyone in town goes to the high school's football games, where Hank is present. San Benito is also referred to as "the High School." There used to be a kind of cool biker rally, but then it got cancelled so now the band kids can't fundraise by working at it and need to find other ways to raise money. Hollister is also very close to awesome, hip places such as San Jose, Monterey, Santa Cruz, Carmel, etc. This town may appear to be a nothing town, but if you lived here you'd know that it's full of kind adults and teens with big ideas. The West Side is where the poorer people live, the East side is average/middleclass, and all the rich people live in the Southside. Hollister is just a town filled with rad kids and cool local bands. but don't get me wrong, the second I graduate I'm getting the hell out. What's there to do in Hollister, California?
Watch Fugu at Mars, duh. |

Hollister, California is a small town located in San Benito County. It has one High School called San Benito High School, where most of the kids in San Benito County go. Most people refer to it as "The High School." more...
As of 2010, the population was 34,928. It was 65.7% Hispanic or Latino, 29.1% White, 0.7% African American, 0.3% Native American, 2.4% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, and 0.1% other. West Side and Northside are where most of the poor people live and where most of the gang activity takes place. EastSide is where the lower income-middle class live, some gang activity occurs there. And SouthSide is where the rich people live. Hollister does not have much to do for young teens without transportation, most just walk target like it's a mall. Hollister is often confused with the store Hollister Co. People will always ask if it's a beach town. When you respond no they will then ask if there is even a Hollister store in Hollister. Hollister Co. ad Hollister, California HATE eachother. Hollister Co. wanted Hollister, CA to change it's name even though Hollister CA has been here WAY longer. Rediculous. Hollister is a very beautiful place. It is almost surrounded by mountains and has a lot of open fields. Agriculture is a big thing in this town. Becausue of Hollister's high Hispanic population, it has a ton of delicious authentic taquerias, panaderias, super mercados, etc. If you move to the right area of Hollister, I'm sure you will love it there. Kind of. |

A clothing store that has industrialized beach culture. They sell overpriced shirts that say stuff on them like "Huntington Beach", "Newport Beach", "Cali", and so on in that fashion. This store is extremely popular to rednecks in the Midwest that dream about going to southern California. NEWSFLASH: If you wear clothes on them that say "California", you're probably not from California. So, to all hicks: turn MTV off, take off that Hollister shirt, and go swim in a pond.

This is a clothing brand that is for kids who do not live in California and desire to. They dig what they think is a social hotspot, and everybody plays up california. Southern California isn't that great of a place, and besides Hollister, California is actually up in dead center NorCal, where it can be rainy and crappy weather alot of the year. This company branch of A&F was just a way to prey on kids who want to be where it's "hip and happening." Its cool if you dig this clothing and actually live on the west coast, otherwise you are a poser. By the way, Most East Coast Hollister Stores Have A Live Camera Feed of Huntington Beach on a Large Plasma Screen. I'd call that a little obsessive. OMG I am totally craving a vintage ripped jean and socal shortsleve polo-t from hollister co., and maybe a mocha-latte.

Hollister is an offshot of abercrombie but it think it is better and cheaper because of the quality of clothes at hollister. Its not for gays or preps its for people who like to wear comfortable clothes and look good. it is just a cool place for teens and young adults to buy pre-ripped jeans and cool shirts. Some people dont like it because they are to poor to buy the clothes or to fat to wear them or maybe they want to be 'individual'. I shop there often and i dont think it is too overpriced and if price is a problem than shop clearence, or if thats not good enough go to goodwill. hollister california is a small hick town 50 miles from the nearest beach, so people could dis it if it were based on a hick-town but it is based on Hollister Ranch a surf company. As for the people who go to hollister to buy surf gear um thats not so cool especially if you live in some land-locked state where the closest thing to an ocean is a pond or lake. As for the smell i think its great and alot of girls like the smell also. So for those of you who poke fun of people who wear it why do you say things about it? whats so wrong with it? if you can think of a good reason then share it with the world cuz im open to suggestions. So till you can give me a reason not to ill be shopping at hollister and waiting for a reason that i should not. more...

Like Abercrombie & Fitch but more eco-friendly; Hollister realizes you can conserve energy because people don't need the lights on to shop. Bev: Hey!, Jo look at this grey shirt I just got at Hollister!
Jo: Ummm... Bev, that's white. |

Another way of saying Hollister clothing in another state other than California. My middle aged teacher is wearing a California shirt.
