1. Hardline
Origin
The Hardline movement grew out of the more politically conscious sections of the Southern California hardcore and punk scenes in 1990. Although one of the basic tenets of Hardline was that it had existed in various forms since the beginning of time, the ideology was largely formulated by Sean Muttaqi of the band Vegan Reich. The Hardline philosophy was said to be rooted in one ethic (the sacredness of innocent life), but in reality the ethos rested on that base and on an idea of an immutable Natural Order. Put in more specific terms, Hardline can be described as a synthesis of deep ecology, straight edge, animal liberation, leftism, and Abrahamic religion.
In practice, the Hardline philosophy forbade its adherents from smoking or chewing any form of tobacco, drinking alcoholic beverages, and using illicit drugs or modern medicines. Furthermore, Hardliners (as they were called) were expected to follow a strict dietary regimen based on the above-mentioned pillars of respect for innocent life and the "Natural Order." To that end, Hardliners ate only foods that were vegan and relatively natural (brown rice over white, evaporated cane juice over white sugar, organic produce over conventional, natural oils over hydrogenated, etc). Human rights issues were also factored into the movement's food politics, and followers were urged to shun third-world cash crops such as ...

2. Hardline
Hardline is an offshoot of straight edge, started by Al in boston in the late 80's. It was an even more intense version of straight edge. They were basically edge guys that would invade other's personal freedoms if they didn't agree with them. Kind of like hate edge.

5. hardline
Someone who was hardline was a person who believed in the complete liberation of all animals, human and non-human, through purity of living and violent and non-violent direct action against those whom they deemed to be "the oppressors." One who was hardline adopted a strict lifestyle based upon both vegan and straight edge principles. Hardline folks were also pro-life, and believed sex was strictly for procreation.

Hardline was a violent movement and officially ended in 1999 via a decision by the Hardline Central Comittee.

Today the hardline has adopted the mantle of the People of Allah.
I was never hardline.

7. Hardline
At first, it was a noon to two show on the little Ticket. It has morphed into the powerhouse afternoon drive time show on the most listened to station in all the Southwest and America's favorite radio station. The hosts, Mike Rhyner and Greg "The Hammer" Williams (does anyone know where Greggo is?) deliver four hours of sports and all that implies for the P1's, P2's and even the marginal P3's, often givings prizes to the girl with the biggest boobs. Their name is derived from the Terrence Trent Darby record "The Hardline According to Terrence Trent Darby". Rhyner, who is not dead, is also known as The Old Grey Wolf and Hollywood, made his name in Dallas radio as the sports guy at the Zoo. He once denied a young Stevie Ray Vaughn a place in his band because Stevie only knew blues. Greggo, who has been known to take long leaves of abscence recently, is from the crank capitol of the world, Boyd, TX. He began really at WBAP in Dallas as a weekend host and fill-in during weeks for Randy Galloway, aka Grandpa Urine. When the Hardline began working afternoon drive for The Ticket, their main competitor was Grandpa Urine. But as his listeners died off and he spent more time in Grand Prairie, he basically faded away. Today, their main advisary is The Afternoon Cloud, Dan Paul Balis. Along for the ride is Corby "Cobra" Davidson, who brings us E News, The Snakepit, College Football Blowhard, The Over Cusser, etc.
The Hardline kicked arse today, despite the best efforts of Grandpa Urine.
