An adjective originating from WH40k, often describing a story where the author thinks that constant pain and suffering (usually inflicted on women) is good writing. Characterized by a world where most people behave like complete sociopaths, and gratuitous violence, rape and torture are commonplace. Basically the worst aspects of medieval history dialed to 11 and nothing else. A subgenre enjoyed by edgelords with pronounced sociopathic tendencies.
