One of four titles used to classify someone based on their technical and social skills. The other three titles are nerd, dork, and normie. The difference between the four titles can be easily shown in table form:

................ Technical ...... Social
Title ............ Skills ......... Skills
---------- ---------------- ------------
Normie ......... No ............. Yes
Geek ........... Yes ............. Yes
Nerd ............ Yes ............. No
Dork ............ No .............. No

Normie: A normal person. Blah.

Geek: An outwardly normal person who has taken the time to learn technical skills. Geeks have as normal a social life as anyone, and usually the only way to tell if someone is a geek is if they inform you of their skills.

Nerd: A socially awkward person who has learned technical skills due to the spare time they enjoy from being generally neglected. Their technical knowledge then leads normies to neglect them even further, leading to more development of their technical skills, more neglection, etc. This vicious cycle drives them even more into social oblivion.

Dork: A person who, although also socially awkward, doesn't have the intelligence to fill the void with technical pursuits, like a nerd, and is forced to do mindless activities. Almost always alone. Usually with an XBox. Like playing Halo. All day. Every day. Not even understanding how the Xbox is making the pretty pictures on the screen. Very sad.
If you met me at a party, you would have no idea that I enjoy finite element analysis-based inviscid flow modelling using computational fluid dynamics. That's because I'm a geek.

A step below a nerd. Geeks spend their time on video games and movies, while nerds spend their time in the library.
Guy 1: Look at the nerd over there. He won't shut up about Resident Evil 5.

Guy 2: No, he's not a nerd. He's a geek.

Person of intelligence pertaining to a specific field; Generally obsessive to the point that they have a serious deficiency of social skills or understanding.

*Not to be confused with "Dork," which is a person of little intelligence, with knowledge of an abstract field. Comes off as useless, or rediculous.

*Also not be be confused with Nerd, which is a combination of the two, and is out-dated.
I can't believe that guy would rather stay home and write software for extra credit than have a drink with us, what a geek.

Nobody cares about what color legolas's panties are, you dork.

a super smart (usually asian, like me) guy in a sweater vest, button up shirt, and glasses who spends 80% of his time studying biology and chemistry and divides the other 20% between video games, anime, Kristen Bell flicks, and popular science magazine. The geek clique is the greatest to be in cuz we have way more fun than any other group when we get together (you ain't got shit on a group of 6th grade boys religiously watching DBZ as it comes on Toonami.) Geeks are the guys living in suburbs (see Troy, MI) while stoners, punks, skaters, and jocks are the ones split-shifting at McDonalds and paying rent in "houses" that are actually former meth-labs or grow-labs in Detroit (see ghetto) as it takes a geek to be a doctor, engineer, scientist or computer software specialist.

Geek chicks are the greatest too; artificial "prep" girls and trashy stoner girls ain't got shit on them. Geek girls have an obsession with biochemistry that's as sexy as their pretty faces, their stylish glasses and their excellent figures. Also, a geek chick can quote any anime or underground rock band you can. I've loved many a geek chick in my day <3

Geeks magically transform into gods when they arrive at the promised land (aka the university)
Damn right I'm an asian geek with a Kristen Bell poster on my wall, Zelda in my SNES, a molecular biology book on the shelf, Popular Science on the coffee table, Weezer in the car stereo, and Gundam Wing in the DVD player!

The geek is a curious creature. A subspecies of humans, they are the simpler cousin of the nerd. Where nerds have extensive knowledge of mathematics, science, physics, and other intelligent things, geeks only have extensive knowledge of things like WOW and Starcraft. Geeks are seriously lacking in the physical department, and when confronted, their only self-defense mechanism is turn turn tail and run, screaming for a teacher or other position of authority. They are the absolute bottom of the social food chain.
Gangsta: Yo you dumb geek get over Here!

Geek: TECHER! HELP! *Runs away as fast as he can, which isn't very fast*

A geek is someone of high intelligence, which usually makes them outcasts of mainstream society. Although they share many traits with the nerd (lack of social skills, usually wears glasses, normally seen on the computer etc.) the main difference is IQ. Nerds are normally of average or above average intelligence, while geeks are often significantly smarter. Geeks also have more mainstream interests i.e physics, maths, chemistry

Geeks are sometimes described as nerds with less social skills, although in some places this is the opposite way round.
Bill Gates is a geek. Geeks rule the world. Don't tread on them.
