To travel upward, somewhat reluctantly.

Reluctantly, like my son lurching toward a time-out, I funiculated up the cracked cement stairs and hailed a taxi.

To travel up or down the side of a mountain in a funicular vehicle.

The group of boys funiculated up the hill when they got in the funicular.

finiculate

To acutely accent a peice of music by playing sharp, muted sounds. This is sometimes accomplished by right-hand muting of common stringed instruments such as guitar, fiddle or mandolin.

His mandolin solo was meticulously finiculated - it was sharp and clear!
