a period of time where Cade loses focus on everything in his vicinity and leaves his initial group of friends, this is to “go talk with his friend Will” but everyone knows that he’s actually got a crush on one of the girls Will is hanging out with and it’s obvious she doesn’t care

the "friends" talk 

I have to give this talk to a guy about every week when I am single. It goes like this: "I really like you, but I have so much going on in my life right now... can we hang? Be friends? Or is it the sort of thing where you don't want anything to do with me if you can't make sweet love to me?" What I mean by it is: You are nice. but you are kind of creepy and I don't think you are physically attractive. Which usually has to do with hygene or lack thereof.

Creepy Guy: "Here, I brought you this lovely stuffed Gnu from Africa."
Me: "Um, Bhalthazar, I think I'm going to have to give you the "friends" talk."

friendtal 

The lending of an item between friends. Similar to a rental it is understood you only keep what you received for a specific period of time. Unlike car or movie rentals friendtals have no late fees. Without late fees sometimes the friendtal becomes what is similar to theft or indefinite borrowing. as the receiving party never gave compensation for what they received.

Guy 1 "Dude where did you get this sick beer pong table?"
Guy 2 "Oh this is just a friendtal. I've got to give it back to my buddy at some time."
