A person in your life (usually friend of friend or coworker) that you get along with and enjoy overall company but will cut you down with virtually any opportunity with mostly backhanded compliments or jabs. Always roots for you to do good but just not better than them. Normally stemmed from some jealousy to any or all aspects of your life. ( similar to a hater but get along with them)
He was happy that I completed my project so quick but made sure to tell me his was faster. He is such a frenemy

Frienemies

People who pretend to be your friend but secretly wish that you would fall on your face...People that put you into a situation that they orchestrated to embarrass you, start drama and/or to make themselves look superior...People that really have self doubt and are jealous but feel they have no recourse except to undermined their friends...People that have no conscientious and under estimate the consequences of their actions because they under estimate the character of their victim
Some that pretends to be your friend but is secretly plotting behind your back to embarrass you in a Public place/party. Frienemies - an enemy that pretends to be your friend

The type of "friend" whose words or actions bring you down.(whether you realize it as intentional or not) The type of friend you ought to cut off but don't cuz...they're nice... good ...you've had good times with them. U know...they're good people that you can count on to bring you down again sometime in the near future. The friend you may or may not have cornered about their quicksand like ways and keep around because "its in the past"...and so was one minute ago. The person that will continue to bring you down until you demand better for yourself.
When you ask yourself is that person my friend or enemy...they are your frenemy. Straighten em out or leave them.Don't put up with it.

Friendemy

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

But does that mean that if I were to become an enemy of my enemies enemy, that my enemy would therefore become my friend?

Because, if my enemies enemy is my enemy, then going by the logic of the aforementioned saying, that would make my enemies enemy (my enemy) my friend.

Unless, if I become enemies with my enemies enemy, what if my enemy then becomes my frenemy, while my enemies friends (my enemies enemies' enemies) become my friends as a result?

But, wait... If my frenemies friends are my friends, (because my friends are the enemies of my enemies enemy) would that mean that my frenemy couldn't actually be considered an enemy? So, what could s/he be considered then?

And thus, the concept of "Friendemies" was born.
"Kevin is a filthy piece of filth, but I don't want to hurt his feelings by calling him a full-out frenemy. So instead, he can now be my friendemy!"

"Justin didn't like Kassandra, because she insulted his morton's toe. Slowly at first, they began to drift apart. After some time, Justin would only consider Kassandra his friendemy."

"After finding out she cheated on him, Caleb recommended they separate, and instead be friendemies."
