speak for yourself

Used to tell someone that an opinion they have expressed is not shared by oneself.
Guy 1: "It's normal for someone to feel nervous on the day."
Guy 2: "Speak for yourself... i'm not."

think for yourself

An exhortation that, taken at face value, is actually good advice, except that when people tell you to do it, they don't ACTUALLY mean "Think for yourself", they mean "Reject mainstream news sources, and trust fringe, loony ones". On the rare occasion that they don't mean this, they still mean "Think for yourself, and agree with me!" At no time, when anybody ever tells you to think for yourself, does the thought ever cross their mind that you could possibly think for yourself, and reach a different conclusion from the one that they reached, or one that is even opposite to the one that they reached.
"Vaccines are poison, and chemtrails are causing birth defects! Think for yourself, watch this poorly-researched YouTube video, and you will agree with me!"

sometimes it’s okay to be a bit selfish and there will be times over the next 12 months when you really must put your own interests first no matter what that might mean for other people. What you do for yourself will benefit them too later on

change yourself for someone

Changing yourself for someone is a toxic sign of thinking your falling in love. It is a way of feeling accepted but not for your true self. It’s not a weakness or an insecurity, it’s more an urge of wanting-ness and the will power of wanting to change yourself for someone. It’s called love -toxic love- be YOURSELF, be UNIQUE
“No you shouldn’t have to change yourself for someone, you are perfect just the way you are”
