The action of an animal (deer, rabbit, chipmunk, etc) that has a potentially fatal run-in with a vehicle.... survives.... and keeps on going When Maggie hit the deer, it got up and fobbled down the road.

To make something worse by trying to fix it. Often happens when someone refuses to ask for help or thinks they are better at something than they really are. I really fobbled when I tried to fix my computer, now its on fire!
