2) A type of roller derby governed in present day by the WFTDA (Women's Flat Track Derby Association), with specific rules pertaining to bouts played on a rink with no banked edges or "rise". 3) A particularly D.I.Y.-type of Roller Derby, in that it requires only a flat, smooth floor, tape to measure out a track, and rollergirls to kick some booty. The Flat Track Roller Derby League in Chicago. Created by Juanna Rumbel (skater since 2005 with 3-time Championship Team, The Fury) and Sister Sledgehammer (of the Double Crossers), the Windy City Rollers, or WCR, has been the premier flat track roller derby league in Chicago since its inception. In 2008, they went all the way to the finals of the WFTDA (Women's Flat Track Derby Association) national tournament. In November, 2010, they host the WFTDA national tournament in Chicago at the UIC Stadium. An oval surface for skating or bicycle racing. Original roller derby used such a surface. The pitch or angle of the curves decreases the centripetal forces created by the object in motion. Size depends on the type of race occuring on the track. The speeds possible on a banked track far out pace those on a flat surface. As the pitch of the turns increases so does the speed potential.

| 5. | Twingle | ||
|
A contraction of the words Twin and Single. A twin cylinder motor running a close firing order ignition timing that mimics a single cylinder motor to provide better traction. Most commonly used in refrence to motorcycle flat track racing. Reffered to as a "big bang" motor when used in refrence to multi cylinder machines. Dave's classic Triumph motorcycle flat track race bike was getting very poor traction last Saturday night so he changed the timing to a twingle.

| 6. | Roller Derby | ||

A game played on either a flat track or banked track. Members of both teams wear quad skates and circle the track in packs. The pack for each team consists of a pivot and three blockers. There is also a jammer for each team on the track who tries to score points by passing opposing blockers.
