1. A Tagalog colonial master of the Phillipines.

2. Any non-Tagalog individual of the Phillipines who has subordinated him/herself to Tagalogs and embraced the Tagalog national identity (Filipino) as his/her own.

Ilocanos, Bisayans (Visayans), and Pampangos, amongst other indigenous and non-indigenous ethnic groups from the Phillipines, sacrificed their own ethnic identities when they chose to be a part of the Tagalogs' Filipino national movement.
Since your ancestors are Bisayan (Visayan) are you Bisayan (Visayan) also?

No, I am no longer Bisayan (Visayan). I am now part of the Tagalog Empire, I am Filipino (Tagalog).

What about the Ilocanos, Pampangos, and the other ethnic groups in the Phillipines?

We are all part of the Tagalog Empire, we are all Filipino (Tagalog). We all speak Filipino (Tagalog).

Uh, damn. It's pretty hard to like actually group filipinos in one race. They a little bit of everything. Ancestors come everywhere from China to Spain to Australia to wherever and gives the people there a cool multicultural feel. I myself am half pinoy, and lemme tell you, that particular side is so amazingly different than my white sided family, I friggin get culture shock after an annual trip to the filipinos in Cali.
White dude: ha, man you're like the token asian in our skool. Just look at ur slanted eyes.
Filipino Guy: Shove it, cracka. you damn ignorant. Filipinos ain't got no slanted eyes or whatever those mainland asians got.
White dude: whatever. (he definately lost this one)

American dude: sup man, that one band yesterday was hella chill, huh?
His Filipino friend: Fo sho, I'm totally diggin their new album...
Ignorant preppy American kid interrupts: What the hell. your asian, shouldn't you be listening to some ching chang chong music right now????????
Filipino Guy: Fuck off asshole. you some kinda dee-dee-dee child?!?!
Ignorant kid: WAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! mommy!!!...

1. Filipinos are citizens that originate from the Philippines, an archipelago part of the Polynesian/Pacific Islands. The Aboriginals were primarily subjugated by the Spanish and Americans (as well as numerous others) for centuries resulting in a mixed race similar to how modern day Mexicans (Mestizos) are today. They have little in common with the East Asian races such as Chinese, Japanese, or Koreans in terms of language and culture and identify themselves more with American culture. However they can often be found in these countries working as prostitutes or maids/nurses and sending money back to their families not unlike Filipino migrants in America.

2. Filipino-American descendants are often confused of their national heritage. This can be summed up into three groups. The first group is that of the urban/hip-hop cultures. Here they dress like African-American rap/movie stars and attempt to adopt an African-American culture. The second group is those who claim to be Asian. These confused individuals are often the loudest to cry “Asian Pride,” when no other Asian groups would do so, in an attempt to force people into thinking that they are Asian. The third group is Homosexuals. The Filipino family has a strong matriarchal leadership; this means that the males are often the weaker of the two sexes. Curiously, a large amount of male Filipinos are gay as evidenced in West Hollywood and the rest of the United States, where Filipino populations are greater.

3. Filipinos love money. They will marry anyone or do anything (including selling their own kids into prostitution) as long as they can get rich. Then they take that money and send it back to their families in their THIRD WORLD COUNTRY. This allows their families to build houses out of bricks instead of mud and sticks. It also helps them support their huge families, as a typical Filipino family will have several children but not necessarily from the same father/mother.

4. Filipinos are devoutly Catholic as evidenced by their celebrations. They do not follow Eastern philosophies or religions (such as Buddhism or Taoism), instead adhering to what they learned from their Spanish conquerors. The Filipino language also borrows heavily from Spanish and English. For example “Hello” is “Hola” “Money” is “Peso.”
Is that person Mexican? No s/he is Filipino. That's interesting, why do they have Hispanic last names?

So what does s/he do? S/he is a nurse. Oh, I could have guessed that, s/he is Filipino afterall.

Filipinos came from a mixture of Asian, European, and American peoples--the Negritos, Indonesians, Malays, Chinese, Indians, Arabs and other Asians; The Spaniards, British and other Europeans; the Mexicans and Americans of South and North America.
According to Dr. H. Otley Beyer, noted American anthropologist, the racial ancestry of Filipinos is as follows: Malay - 40%; Indonesian - 30%; Chinese - 10%, Indian (Hindu) - 5%, European & American - 3%, and Arab - 2%.
Beneath the veneer of Hispanic, Mexican and American heritage, the people, in heart and in spirit, are Asians. they are Asian in race and in geography with an indestructible Asian heritage.
The warmth and natural hospitality of the nation's Filipinos today, is known throughout the world. The 11 cultural, linguistic and racial groups endow the Filipino people with varying customs and traditions. In spite of their diversity, Filipinos have basically two dominant traits: a love of family and a strong religious faith.
Filipinos are hardworking, intelligent people this world has ever have.

Okay. First off.... filipinos are asians! For those who dont consider flips as asians, then you're pretty stupid. because the philippines did come from asia! & just because its an island, doesnt mean its not from asia. look, japan is an island, & its considered as a part of asia?! sheesh.. okay well filipino's have dark skin.. but yeah most actually have light coloured skin. Most flips are found wearing BALLER clothing. Some are honger, nammer, & white washed. filipino's speak tribal languages such as tagalog, bisaya, ilocano, etc. you can get pretty mixed up between a flip, malaysian, cambodian, and laos. coz they all dark skinned. filipino's often work at fast food restaurants. Most flip parents are really strict and they push their kids to finish school and hope for them to get a great job, such as nursing, doctor, etc. they often strive to be the greatest in english. so most forget about their native language (which is not very good!) well yeah, thats all i can think of..

FLIP = Fine Little Islander Person.

yeeeeeuh we cool
Whoah look at that fine filipino.

you mofockers... u dont know wtf a true filipino is.. lemme xplain it like dis.

philippines is made out of THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of islands (7000+). first human beings to step in the philippines are the malaysians..wen malaysians wer takin over d philippines, we speak and write in ALIBATA--which no longer exist. its not written n alphabets, or alphabets with aphotrophes n hyphen like vietnamese, or chinese, or japanese, or korean, or hindu, etc... wen i look at it, for me.. its a mixture of chinese/hindu. very unique. so anyways.. movin on.. damn spaniards!!! if they dint nvade philippines, philippines would be a well respected and culture-riched ASIAN country.

filipinos r only called pacific islanders coz people r dumb.. they dunno wassup so yea..right now, it's not shockin that 9/10 filipino is part spanish..

never been to the philippines? no? damn u missin out.

filipinos are the 2nd largest asian population in the U.S. filipinos were treated like the blacks when they were under the command of the white mofockers. in san francisco bay area california, back in the 60's 70's 80's... white cops beat every filipino they see. they call us "riot starters" and "bad influence" to the community. riot started..eh.. i kinda agree on dat. but bad influence? fuc no. shit mang, if it wasnt for the filipinos, san francisco wouldnt foggy at night n shit..(coz thats when they begin cooking rice) funny? no? ok.

youll see filipinos all over the world (other parts of asia, africa, north america, south america, europe, etc.)

filipinos (especially teens) who's born in the US don't embrace their culture...when they're called "asian" they get mad, they like being called "pacific islander" better...which reflects their stupidity and lack of knowledge about their culture.

damn im tired.. anyways. about me...im not full filipino. my dad is full chinese and my mom is filipino and spanish. her parents speaks fluent spanish...when i'm asked what my nationality is, i proudly tell peeps that im 100% filipino even though im not. im proud to be one.

ok im tired. imma go to sleep now.
