October 24, 2008 Urban Word of the Day
When you're about to high five someone, and your hands are just about to hit, then the other high-fiver quickly moves their hand away leaving you with a non-returned air five... you dork. I had just gotten a new job and turned to give Amy a high five to celebrate my coolness, and she quickly dodged my hand leaving me with a faux five. I then felt very un-cool.

| 2. | No-Five | ||
|
Similar to a "faux-five."
When giving some one a high five you stop at the last minute. However, instead of just dodging the high five you form your fiving hand into a finger and shake it at the person. A stern glare should accompany this gesture. Sometimes a loud "No!" is also appropriate. No-fives should usually be used as friend punishment. A great way to get some ones hopes up then crush them at the last minute. When Keith told me he finally caught Raiku he thought he was pretty cool... until I No-fived him.
I really deserved the No-five I got after losing to a girl in air hockey. |

Similar to the Faux Five; When your going to high five someone and they are about to return the high five, but pull it back in a squid like motion and say "Squid". Your still left high-five-less and a bit more humiliated. Chris; Ahh nice shot high five!
(raises hand) Mike; Yeah dood i know?! (raises hand then pulls back) Mike; SQUID! Chris; Awww laaammmee |

| 5. | Jellyfish | ||
|
A kind of faux five when you're going in to give someone a high five but quickly pull away, making your hand make jellyfish motions in the air while saying, "JELLYFISH!"
To add to the affect, apologize, then go in for a hug. When they go in for the hug also, pull back and make the jellyfish motions with your arms while saying, "JELLYFISH!" Known to be annoying as hell. Kaitie: OMG! Highfive!
Courtiney: JELLYFISH! Kaitie: ))): |

| 6. | Squid | ||
|
When one offers a hi-five to someone and that person goes to take it, the first person makes a squid-ish shape from their hand, pulls away from the second person and says: "Squid" 1st person: Woah, Hi-Five!
2nd Person: Yeah! 1st person: Squid! |

| 7. | use2be | ||
|
A hypocrite. Usually derogatory, refers to someone who has publicly reversed position on an issue. A flip-flopper. Derived from 'wannabe'.
Also, someone who is "yesterday's news", "so five minutes ago", or who's "jumped the shark". Someone who is no longer of interest and/or in the public spotlight. 1 The video describes use2be social liberal Mitt Romney proclaiming his support for gun laws, gay marriage, and women's right to choose.
2 All but forgotten use2be Ann Coulter, extremist and former darling of the right-wing, can't even get Faux News to advertise on her website these days. |
