1. farretta
Farretta (n.) large usu. cream-furred ortholacyte of the Astereonopteridae family. Noted for rapid regeneration of eyes and tongue after the seasonal fights for a mate. Usual habitat in marshes and swamps, has been known to colonise urban areas during heatwaves. Chemically reactive vats at the base of each hair root enable the farretta to camouflage itself for limited periods on lawns, over bookshelves, on rooftops, etc. Has been known to become peculiarly aggressive in the presence of sherry trifle, heavy metal music and/or electric trains.
Watch out, there's a farretta about.
