Usually occurs to reasonable, rational and logical persons when encountering many of the ludicrous, immoral and plainly delusional writings which occur in most of the world's religious scriptures. The reaction to talking to a Christian about the bible, specifically when speaking of the psalms and using them to defend idiocy, bigotry, or violence. Related to the act of a "facepalm" when confronted with idiocy; "facepsalm" directly applies to Christian idiocy. Person 1 -"According to Deuteronomy gays should be killed"
Person 2 -"It also says you shouldn't shave?" Person 1 - "You have to understand the context" Person 2- *facepsalm* Person 1- "Psalm 137:9 Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks. " Person 2- "Really?" *facepsalm* |

The equivalent of a a facepalm (used out of disgust/defeat at having to entertain the musings of a moron), specifically used when dealing with a religious fundamentalist gomer, who reflexively recites hypocritical psychotic monkey garbage in the absence of any rational thought. "Did you hear what my hero, the demi-god Pat Robertson said about homosexuality and belly buttons?"
"Holy shit... wasn't it something about innies & outies?" "Yeah, God says that 'the way it dips is the way you flip,' Matthew 2013..." "You're an idiot (facepsalm)." |
