| 1. | Duke of New York | ||
|
As seen in "Escape from New York", the Duke of New York is one bad mofo. Imagine a your standard pimpin' crime boss, now make him in charge of all of Manhattan. Damn, girl! The Duke of New York came pretty close to bustin' Snake's head open.

| 2. | New York Hello | ||
|
A New York Hello is when you get introduced to the city in an unfortunate way, or just when something untoward happens in general. Instead of saying "Well that's a fine how do you do" (Laurel and Hardy style) you would say, "Well that's a fine New York Hello". Having a plant from a fire escape fall and bop you on the head,
or by having a taxi drive by and splash water all over you, or by having someone spit on you. That's a fine New York Hello |

| 3. | Upstate New York | ||
|
In short, a terrible place. Should be avoided at all costs. more...
If you ever end up moving to Upstate New York, you will never be able to escape it. The towns are all small, boring and cold and the cities are nothing to write home about either. However something about Upstate New York, particularly EXTREME Upstate New York will pull you back in should you ever try to leave for a prolonged period of time. My parents, like many other unfortunate people who grew up in Upstate New York, actually left and CAME BACK. Upstate New York will forever be in the shadow of The City, and should you move there you will be invalidated as a person entirely. If you ever happen to travel, and you tell someone you are from New York you will be forced to endure horrid responses like "OMGZ IZ IT NICE IN DA CITY?" or "D00D I WAz iN NYC LaSt WeEk, itz dA BoMb!!123" even if you try to take preventitive measures such as saying "New York STATE |

| 4. | The Region | ||
|
n : an area of Indiana encompassing Lake County - some contend that Porter County is also included; many Hoosiers immediately recognize a 'Region-Rat' from the subtle nuances in dialect and propensity of proclaiming being 'from Chicago', albight living in Indiana.
Non-'Regionites' are characterized by the ignorant belief that all of da Region is a gang-infested wasteland a la Mad Max or Escape from New York / LA (of the three, the last two can be seen as a degredative insult). syn: da region You: 'Where you from?'
Me: 'North-west Indiana, near Chicago.' You: 'Oh, the region!?' You: 'Ever been (mugged / raped / shot-at / deported) in Gary?' Me: 'No, I'm from the Region, not Warsaw!' |

| 5. | Summit | ||
|
The epitome of modern-day American hedonism. Like anything else, you can't apply stereotypes to everyone, but it is safe to say that drinking is Summit's past-time. The education is fantastic, the houses larger, the parties wilder--all because of the influx of money from Wall Street financiers. High school football is popular, despite the fact that they haven't won a game in two years. The kids themselves are nice--that I have realized--but the town corrupts them. It is a terrible town in all facets but the material. Boredom reigns supreme, and kids live in the happiness of their childhoods (was that really the best part of their lives?). Perhaps the best thing about Summit is that you can hop on the train and escape to New York. Unfortunately there is no River Ouse in Summit, so Virginia must find some other way of drowning herself.
I advised my friend not to bring his daughter to Summit unless he truly desired her to grow up a drunk and a slut. Thankfully, Summit is not nearly half as disgusting as those foul brats on "My Super Sweet Sixteen"; but that does not mean it is any less hedonistic. |

| 6. | Mo'Compton | ||
|
A substitute of words used to describe a city in Riverside County that is bordered by Riverside, Perris, Colton, Loma Linda, Redlands and San Jacinto. This city is known as Moreno Valley.
It is said that (like the movie "Escape from New York") that Moreno Valley should be fenced around it's borders and all of the high schools should be turned into cafeterias so that the entire area can be utilized as a functioning prison. Mo' is used to describe the "M" & "O" that starts the word "Moreno" the "Compton" part pretty much says what it needs to say on it's own. Man, I went to the new Hooters in Mo'Compton and I thought maybe it was being franchised by Magic Johnson or something.
