Erdős-number 

The Erdős number (Hungarian pronunciation: ˈɛrdøːʃ) describes the "collaborative distance" between a person and mathematician Paul Erdős, as measured by authorship of mathematical papers.

Mathematician Daniel Kleitman have collaborated with Paul Erdős so his Erdős-number is 1.

Paul Erdős 

Short, speed addicted, asexual, Hungarian mathematical genius who left his home at the age of 21 (because of antisemitism) and lived a nomadic lifestyle until his death at age 83 (in 1996) in Poland. He disliked everything (including women, children, alcohol, capitalism, god, his brain) except for numbers, Israel and speed. He published (co-authored) more than 1500 mathematical articles and offered prizes for the solution of problems he couldn't solve. Some of them haven't been solved, yet.

Paul Erdős 

Hungarian Mathematician known for his eccentricity.
He spent most of his time travelling and would turn up to other mathematicians' houses; work together on maths and, when they were, done he would ask who to visit next.
He died in 1996 while giving a conference.
