Digimon Tamers

The 3rd installment in the Digimon tv series, Digimon Tamers took place mostly in the Real World (Shinjuku) and revolved mostly around three Tamers (the term digidestined was dropped). Chiaka J. Konaka (author of Serial Experiments Lain, Alice in Cyberland etc) wrote the third season.
Unlike the previous two, there is no connection with Adventure and 02, other than them being ackknowledge as a franchise in the Tamer's universe.
It should be noted that Tamers uses actual locations, using the entire area of Shinjuku for the anime and several buildings, streets, parks, a school and homes. Also to be noted is the sharp difference in the appearance of the digital world. No longer "fluffy and sparkly" the Digital World is beautifully animated, combining CGI's with artistry to create an appealing visual.
Digimon Tamers at its core challenges the existance of Artifical Life and the potential dangers it poses to humanity. It deals with digital genocide, depression, suicide, neglect, hints of addiction, and the maturity of characters. Digimon Tamers is frequently noted as the darkest of the series yet Chiaka J. Konaka makes it enjoyable for all ages and still makes it a series thats truly worth watching.
Digimon Tamers runs for 50 episodes, produced by Toei Animation, written by Chiaka J. Konaka and directed as a group by the alias Akiyoshi Hongo.

Digimon Adventure

The greatest anime series, no, the greatest creative work of any sort ever made.
The last eighty-four episodes of the anime series Digimon Adventure are far better then any equivalent stretch of any television series, though many fools do not realize this.
1. An anime series that has been constantly slandered by pokemon fans and attempts to ruin it were made by horrible dubbers, but is still truly one of the greatest(And darkest.) anime of all time, and has spawned quite a large fandom(And some truly great fanfics.) Anyone who says they saw the dark masters arc and didn't shed a single tear is either inhuman, lying, or having a serious problem with his or her tear ducts.(AKA Digimon Adventure)

2. Digimon Tamers

3. Digimon Frontier

4. An assortment of various monsters that are the native inhabitants of the digital world in any of the digimon series.
Digimon is one of the most underrated anime of all time.

Digimon

A fictional group of digital beings who reside in a parallel universe know as "The Digital World." It was first born as a virtual pet that could be used in battles and raised to become various, stronger beings. The concept then took the path of its characters and evolved into an anime where-in seven youung kids go to camp for the summer and end up living in a digital land. Hey, Digimon, Hey, Digimon!

Unfortunently- America's crappiest dubbing companys grabbed digimon by the throat and ripped away all of its depth, making it into a crappy pokémon-wannabe. But the original Digimon Adventure in Japan is very deep with emotions running high and emo devils trying to take over the worlds.
"I watch Digimon in japanese because its better in its original format."

"Digimon was on TV the other day."

Digimon Frontier

The fourth season of Digimon Digital monsters.

Although it is highly criticized by fans saying it ruined the formula of Digimon, Frontier still gives us memorable moments.
Season Four features 5 kids Takuya, Tommy, J.P., Zoey, and Koichi.

The Fourth season is criticized because the 5 kids do not get their own partners but yet become a Digimon through a process called "Spirit Evolution."
Digimon Frontier was an ok season but to me Digimon Tamers was the best

Digimon vs. Pokemon

The most fiery rivalry between any two IPs of all time. Fans of each commonly bicker over which of the two is older, which has better dubs, which is darker, which has better games, which has better anime, etc.

This is a fact: Pokemon is older. Not siding one way or the other, but Pokemon came out in 1996; Digimon came out in 1997.

Other than that, it's totally subjective and pointless to argue about. Probably most people think that Digimon has better anime and Pokemon has better games, so they're about even.
Digimon vs. Pokemon in Action

Tim: Hey, man, I see you're watching some Pokemon.
Marsh: Don't even start, dude. It's not a-
Tim: I wasn't gonna say it! Jesus.
Marsh: Cause you know how you are, with-
Tim: It's fine, dude! Pokemon's cool. (walks away) If only.
