Used in heavy-duty trucks, generators, pumps, etc. for their higher specific torque (vs. gasoline) and greater fuel efficiency. Modern diesels are very clean, efficient, smooth, and quieter. My Ford/Chevy/Dodge truck has a diesel engine which runs on diesel fuel. Neato!
