Detached Cool

Cooler than the other side of the pillow. To be detached cool, remember not to look at any cameras when taking pictures while you also look like you're thinking deeply about world peace and/or the meaning of life and why we are all here.
Person A: Why does Staan look so deep in thought?
Person B: He's not really deep in thought. Someone was just taking a picture of him.
Person A: Wow. So detached cool.

Semi-Detached

The notoriously common house, found throughout the suburbs of Great Britain. Are houses joined together by a "Party Wall" to save space I presume. The most common ones were built in the 1930s, to a decent enough standard that only now in 2011 they are starting to fall down around your ears, with insurance companies being called out for Constant repairs. They are the dwelling of the English Middle Class, a family on £45,000+ PA, 2 Cars under 10 years old and go abroad twice a year. Are overpriced for their size, costing on average around £180,000 and going upto £600,000. In all honesty an identical home in America would cost half as much, but what can you do. They are fucking everywhere, trust me, try any Suburb, you'll find 100s of them, each of them in groups of 6 and then broken up by a detached version of the same property.
English Road:
Semi-Detached, Semi-Detached, Semi-Detached, Semi-Detached, Semi-Detached, Semi-Detached, DETACHED!!!

Semi-Detached, Semi-Detached, Semi-Detached, Semi-Detached, Semi-Detached, Semi-Detached, DETACHED!!!

And so on.

detached cool

To look removed from society whenever standing near iconic art pieces or tourist/iconic locations. To stare off the frame when taking pictures and look uninterested in life.
Stranger: Wow such a cool mural huh.
Caleb: Whatever.
Stranger: Can I bum a cigarette?
Caleb: (No response) (continues smoking and looking off into the distance)
Stranger: Wow. so detached cool.

Detached from reality

Insane. Just plain off your rocker. Not "with it".
“I thought, boy, if he really believes this stuff, he has lost contact with— he’s become detached from reality if he really believes this stuff," Barr said of a breaking point he had in December.

strings detached

A person with "strings detached" is essentially free; completely lacking obligations, or responsibilities. No strings attached. A possible negative consequence of fully living with strings detached is that isolation can develop in relation to others. Detachment from life in general can be crippling. Simply put, if you don't need to take part in life, and you can avoid most aspects of it, you become less involved in the unfolding of the universe and become disconnected from it in ways that can keep you from actually living life. You may actually lose part of yourself by losing part of your place in the Universe; Separating yourself from everyone and everything can make it as though you almost don't exist. Once you realize there is nowhere to hide, you begin to wonder what you are hiding from. You can unplug... but eventually you have to plug back in. The world keeps moving while you're unplugged. The "Universal One" moves on with or without you. It is possible to get left behind. Separateness can grow. It may be hard to reverse.
"I severed every string I had attached that could cause me to have to rely on myself, or have others rely on me. I cut out anything that could cause stress in my life including people and activities. My adapted "strings detached" life left little to appreciate and little to be a part of. I'm not doing what the Universe designed me to do; which is to just be, but be with everyone else being a part of all that is and all there ever will be. We're all supposed to have a part in making the future. If you aren't affecting the future, you aren't part of the present."
