I call my religion diesm and guess wat? Looks like the page for this word is owned by ignorant dope-smokin' haters.
I used to be Christian, but I figured I can't always try to get everything good and pray to God always talking about my wrongs and asking Him to do me favors. That'd be like hypocricy for me. I still tolerate Christians and other not violently carried out religions, but I gotta have a religion of reason for myself.
And don't be thinking I let myself do crap coz I don't worship the Christian God anymore. I still know that for every something bad I do there's gonna be a punishment to even things out, and I can't live my way thru life cheating.

The belief that God (or some form of deity or divine creator) exists, but plays no interactive role in our day to day lives
The founding fathers of the United States were largely deists.
"From Latin Deus, God.Deity
The doctrine or creed of a Deist." And Deist is defined in the same dictionary as: "One who believes in the existence of a God or supreme being but denies revealed religion, basing his belief on the light of nature and reason."
Its creed is pure, and sublimely simple. It believes in God, and there it rests.
It honors reason as the choicest gift of God to man, and the faculty by which he is enabled to contemplate the power, wisdom and goodness of the Creator displayed in the creation; and reposing itself on His protection, both here and hereafter, it avoids all presumptuous beliefs, and rejects, as the fabulous inventions of men, all books pretending to revelation.
The beleif that god exists, but so do scientific and logical things.
Deists beleive that, rather then God shouting dramaticly "Let there be chickens!!" *, God created the first cell which then evolved into all other life. Meanwhile God was off doing important things, like creating other universes.
*let's not get into if he prehaps created eggs first, shall we?
In Deism, you beleive that God exists, but that's just about all you think about him.
-Believing that there is indeed a God , but he does not meddle in the everyday lives of human beings. Also believing that religion is a major thorn in the side of world unity.
-Okay you smug fucks.I don't know where the hell you got the information that early deists were slave owning racists. Thomas Paine , a very prominent deist (author of The Age of Reason) was classified as an abolitionist and was very much against the institution of slavery. Furthermore , even if there were some founding fathers who were deist , and owned slaves , does not mean they were racist , or evil , they were just adapting to the culture , which at the time entailed slavery. Roman Catholics killed Muslims in many Crusades for Jerusalem , does that make all Roman Catholics murdering radicalists?!?! The religion of many of the world's radical terrorists just happens to be Islam , does that make all Muslims terrorist?
-And for the r-tard (Hell awaits ..) that said "god doesn't interfere with our daily lives blah blah blah, but he bestowes the gift of reason upon us which would be god interfering with us which according to deists and their high and mighty "reason" he doesn't do but they just said he does do it,blah blah blah"
-Are you retarded? How does reason being the greatest gift God has given us mean that he meddles in our daily lives? U idiot. He does not stand there and assign reason to everyone that is born , which is apparently what you believe , it just means that he gave humans the g...
Philosophical belief that God exists but doesn't get specific enough to have a direct connection with someone like humans.
But they can believe anyway coz God has room for everything.
YO: Back in the times of slavery, people has slaves regardless of their religion. In fact, most of the slave owners in America were Christian.
Plus: the old testament it accepts slavery cause it was so common in ancient times. So kinda like the founding fathers accepted it coz they didn't know any better. But at least they were deist so maybe that's wat gave this country a good start.
And just coz someone is deist doesn't mean they're exactly like the slave-owners of the founding fathers' times.
The belief of a god or gods... plain and simple.
The founding fathers may have been deist... but thats kind of when the religion lost all its numbers. Deism has nothing to do with slavery and i dont know how these certain individuals came up with such an absurd notion. Sure Deists owned slaves, but so did christians HELL even jews had them, btw thomas paine did not agree with slavery and these people are a total nimrods for throwing such a noble man into such a harsh category. he wrote for black and woman rights LOOONG before his time, you guys should read common sense.
