Consolization 

A term that unifies “casualization” (from casual), with “consoles”. While in videogames “casualization” means a tendency to make things less complex and accessible to the masses, “consolization” means the “casualization” applied to games that weren’t casual before. It applies to all kind of games who become less complex because of the necessity of convert mouse to pad controls, lower on memory or graphics requeriments, or downgrade any kind of management (losses the x,y axis, big menus, scrolling inventories, auto aim, auto stats, lack of editor or mod support, etc).

Many games have lost plenty of quality due to their consolization, their predecessors were richer and deeper in each aspect but these multiplatform versions were designed limited by inferior platforms...

consoled

A form of making out, always in a car, over the center console. Usually, this happens because a girl is too prude to take it to the backseat in the car. This action almost always results in sore ribs, because both people rub their sides against the console while kissing.

Cooper's ribs were very sore after being consoled by Suzy. She's such a prude.

consolize 

The act of creating a PC game which contains console game design concepts or gameplay offering more instant gratification. These design concepts include, but are not limited to the following:

-Unlockables
-Less customization features
-Very little control for multiplayer hosts

Consolization can often be a result of porting a console game to PC and may often be accompanied by sloppy optimization and widespread technical issues of all kinds.

It may also less literally mean "cheapened" or "simplified" and can, as such, sometimes be applied even to certain console games.

"Man, those games used to be awesome, but lately they've just been consolized."

Consolised 

When a video game and/or franchise that was originally designed for the PC platform and its audience of gamers has been "bastardised" to suit the lowest common denominator.(console gamers)

The term "dumbed down" is also used in reference to this. Popular aspects of the video games in question are removed, or significantly reduced in order for console gamers to play these games on the much older hardware in consoles.

Consolised games are also simplified a lot mainly to account for the (in most cases inferior) control method, the game controller. This means that more advanced menu structures that would normally accomodate a mouse and keyboard are stripped out and are usually left very limited as apposed to how the menus and user interfaces would have been if the game was designed for the PC gamers.

Gameplay also suffers when a game becomes consolised as non player characters or AI characters are usually made easier (reaction times, number of enemies, accuracy ect.) as well as things such as auto aim/aim assist and larger hit boxes around enemies to make the games easier to play with a game controller.

There are many examples of consolised games, some of which include:

● The Rainbow Six series was a tactical shooter when the franchises was designed for its fan base on the PC, now with the development of the series focusing on console gamers the Rainbow Six Vegas series is a completely different series of games altogether, pretty much just another arcade shooter with small and limited elements of tactical gameplay.

● Ghost Recon is a series that has suffered the same fate as the Rainbow Six series. Compared to its predecesor, it is now just a shooter with simplified tactical gameplay elements.

● Crysis was a much loved franchise on the PC the series was true to the PC platform as it took advantage of the advanced hardware, superior control method and was future proofed to run and look better on hardware upgrades released in the future. When the sequel came out 4 years later the game was inferior to its predecesors in almost every aspect in order for it to work on consoles/for console gamers.

Consolization 

A term invented by rabid PC enthusiasts to describe any game that isn't Baldur's Gate 2 and doesn't require spread-sheet style character management or which uses an accessible interface for gameplay. If the gameplay is easy to get into, PC enthusiasts will consider it rubbish and consolized, no matter how difficult the actual game might be.

Anybody not in agreement on a game being 'consolized' is considered inferior and will never be allowed into said PC enthusiast's battlestati-, err basement.

Clearly that game suffers from consolization, because even though it has won awards for most innovative gameplay, most involving story and best AI in a game, it displays a little text that tells you to press 'E' every time you want to open a door.
