It's complicated 

One of the options for "Relationship Status" on Facebook. Refers to a couple in an ambiguous state between "friends" and "in a relationship". May also be used to indicate dissatisfaction with an existing relationship.
If someone changes their status from "In a Relationship" to "It's Complicated", expect them to be "Single" and "Looking for Random Play" soon.

Complicated Relationship 

A complitcated relationship is when two people flirt and have something going but aren't in a relationship for whatever reason.
Dude are you guys dating because you always post eachother. "No were kinda in a complicated relationship"

It's complicated 

a couple that can't decide to be friends, friends with benefits, or to be in a full out relationship. Friends continue to ask each person what their situation is but no one can truly say in a relationship.
Robin and Lauren's relationship is complicated. If I had to put a title on it I would say,"It's complicated!" Come on guys, just be in a relationship all ready.

A relationship status that essentially conveys that "it's not going to work out." The term "complicated," masks the truth of the situation for the two in the relationship, but everyone else knows what "complicated" means.
Billy and Jane hadn't seen each other in sometime. When confronted by George, Billy said that his relationship was "complicated."
