(i)Pub Quiz Machine
The term 'Chittay' (also called 'Chitty') is a vernacular expression which seems to be widespread in the Channel Islands, particularly Jersey, but also other parts of the South
West of England to refer to a pub quiz machine.
The origin is somewhat obscure, but one thought is that is originates from the word '
Cheat', which is a bonus that some quiz machine gives when the machine is just about to pay out.
