| 1. | MSN Chat | ||
|
A once popular chat server, Msn Chat was reduced to only letting chatters of 18 or over to join. In the UK, the MSN Chat service was closed down on the 14th October 2003 to "provide consumers with a safer, more secure and positive overall online experience." The popular section of the MSN website has now become "People & Groups" American:"Goin on MSN Chat tonight?"
Briton:"I would, but where is it :O" |

| 2. | Chat n' Run | ||
|
It's kind of like a hit n run, only its on AIM (or whatever messaging service). It's when a person IM's somebody and then signs off or goes to an away message before getting a response. The term also applies if a person gets a response but leaves before responding back. Why did you IM me if you were just gonna chat n' run?

| 3. | Facebook Chat | ||
|
The newest and most convienent replacement for standard instant messaging of the past.
Facebook Chat is an instant messaging client provided to users of the Facebook.com website. The service is only available while directly logged into the site; in addition, a user's "online friends" are determined on, not screen names (as many older clients have used previously), but rather the same friends he/she has on Facebook.com. I just don't use AIM to talk to anyone anymore because Facebook Chat is so much more convenient.

| 4. | chat tease | ||
|
Someone, whose status is always shown to be available on G-chat, or any other IM service, regardless as to whether they are available or not. Leaving their friends to ponder whether or not they're being snubbed. Amber is such a chat tease. She's on day and night, but you never know if she's really there, or she just hates you that day.

| 5. | guerrilla chat | ||
|
A guerrilla chat is when you get on Facebook or other service with instant messaging, find a friend online, send them a message, and then log out before they can respond. Sometimes done unintentionally, but almost always annoying to the person that finds your attention span was too short to wait for their response. Hey, I think I just got hit by some guerrilla chat. I stepped away from the computer for 30 seconds, came back to find Kristy asking how was my day. Then my response was rejected, saying "Kristy is now offline."

| 7. | Hood Service | ||
|
The opposite of Customer Service. Terrible customer service from African-American employees who have grown up in the ghetto. These employees often chat amongst friends, eat at their posts, and act rudely towards or totally ignore the customer. Customer "Hello, do you carry paper towels?
:Employee totally ignores customer, ranting and raving about the party last night, and how ugly Shaniqua's new weave looks: Customer "Excuse me, hello?" :Employee glares at customer after being so "rudely" interrupted, then states "Maybe, you can try to find 'em" :goes immediately back to conversing: Customer "Fuck this hood service!" :storms out: |
