Music made by the stupid for the stupid, unfortunately very popular in Bulgaria. The music is mostly stolen from Serbian, Greek or Turkish songs, with just the lyrics changed. The "performers", if you could even call them that, usually have huge fake boobs, fake nails, fake hair extensions, layers of make up and are really just high class whores for the producers, the "mutri" (mafia) and just about anyone else. The men look like pimps or drag queens. Female chalga fans a.k.a. "chalgarki" typically wear slutty, cheap clothes, usually fake designer. The male fans- "chalgari" must look and act like dumb, "macho" guys or pimps at all times. (to demonstrate that they're straight). Generally the fan base consists of peasants, gypsies, "mutri" (gangstas), truck/taxi drivers, dumb slutty girls and general low lives. Usually chalga is hated by anyone with an ounce of intelligence. It's the equivalent to trashy rap/R n B/hip hop in the Western world. People who listen to chalga too much invariably become brainwashed and start to believe that easy money, sleazy underage sex and expensive cars are the essence of happiness. Such people are to be avoided at all costs if one wishes to remain sane. vulgar, stupid ass chalga lyrics that nearly every Bulgarian has been subjected to at some stage in their life:
"...yo bro, enough of that heavy metal, giss some chalga...." *cue gypsy music and fat middle aged men singing: "oooh tiger, tiger, if you have money... hot women...ooh tiger tiger, if you have no money... old grannies " "the handle, the handle, how it went in, the handle" "The Black Sea, it's very good, at the sea there's a hole, chaka raka dei" "A red Ferrari, one for you, one for me" "I quickly put in your mouth...those rude words...are we gonna do it, shai lai lai, show me how you like it..." |

The most stupid "music"!It`s just called "music" but it`s not.The singers who performing this style can`t sing, they have so bad voice and I can sing better than them.Chalga and pop-folk singers are the most untalented music artists in the world. If you look better you can see that everybody can imitate the voice of the chalga singers.For example I can sing like Konstantin and Kondio.

Chalga is the most common word, used for identifying the Pop folk in Bulgaria, incorporating a blend of Arabic, Turkish, Greek, and Roma (Gypsy) influences, as well as motifs from even flamenco and klezmer music. It is known for repeating musical themes and dance rhythms and its style of dancing called kyuchek in Bulgarian. In the beginning it was a "low-budget" music with often low quality, but with time it evolved to one of the most popular musical genres in Bulgaria. Now chalga singers are often professionals - some of them even winners of famous musical contests. Let's go to a chalga party tonight!

The favourite kind of music of most Bulgarians.Its origins come from Turkey,Greece and the other countries on the Balkan peninsula.At first(during the 90's) chalga singers copied famous songs from their collegues from the countries mentioned above,but nowadays more and more Bulgarian singers prefer authors songs.One of the most famous chalga singers in Bulagria are:Mara-the Opener,Azis-the Homo,Gloria-the Skeleton,Gergana-the Silicone and many others(even more than you can see on MTV!).All of them,except for Azis are produced by Mitio-Payner-a a part of Azis'chalga hit"Dui,Dui,Dui,listen to my hui,oops-song,please tell me(x2)...You should be jealous,you should swear,I want you to dream about me,Dui,Dui,Dui..."and so on:)

Some people don`t make any difference between BULAGRIAN POP-FOLK and Chalga music. Pop folk is very popular music style in BULGARIA and it`s mixed by Pop music and some BULGARIAN folk motivs. Pop-folk singers are Anelia,Gergana,Emilia,Preslava and others. Chalga is music,which comes from Turkey and it has oriental sound.It`s not typical Bulgarian music but some Bulgarian singers sing this kind of music. Chalga singers are Azis,Kondio,Kati,Pepa,Ina and so on. So please make difference between pop-folk ( one of the most popular styles in Bulgaria) and Chalga(nowadays not so modern in the same country) Pop-Folk
