‘‘You buddhu! How can you take so long to add two and two!’’

Origin: India (Hindi/Bengali)
At some point in Ancient Indian history the word “Buddhu”(बुद्धू ), which was corruption of word “Baudh”(बौद्ध, meaning Buddhist), was started to be used by Non-Buddhist to refer to Buddhists pejoratively. And this word was used, condescendingly, by Non-Buddhists to refer to Buddhists as stupid/idiot. The word must have, at some point, entered the general lexicon to refer to any person, in general, with limited mental cognition of temporary nature or otherwise.
