Oh and punks hate hippies! Blink 182: I hate the jocks the hippie f**kin scumbags, heavy mettallers with their little pussy hair bands.

bands that fall into the punk rock genre are the sex pistols, the clash, the ramones, iggy pop and the stooges, the buzzcocks etc. bands that do not fall into the punk rock genre are led zeppelin (someone said this in an earlier post, they are hard rock, not punk rock), good charlotte, blink 182, avril lavigne, simple plan, sum 41 etc. sheena is a punk rock-er.

- Blink 182 (their old stuff is punk, everything from their first album onwards is crap) - New Found Glory - Good Charlotte - Simple Plan - All-American Rejects among many others. People call bands like these "pop punk", when in reality, they're mostly just pop with a very slight punk-like sound. Also, some would call Avril Lavigne pop punk, when in reality, she doesn't even remotely sound like punk at all. She does, however, "dress punk", to the annoyance of those who do listen to punk. True "pop punk" is actually punk with a slightly softer sound and more melody, such as Millencolin, Dillinger Four, etc, NOT Blink 182...

Also 2 of the band members started a side project called Boxcar Racer which also rocks. DO NOT CAPITILIZE THE NAME AS THAT IS a SIN!

Avril Lavigne is not punk. Good Charlotte is not punk. Blink 182 is not punk. Most people these days have no idea what real punk is.If you want you to know what real punk and what real good music is, tune in to The Clash. 'London Calling, 'White Riot', 'Rock the Casbah'- just a few of the brilliant tracks by The Clash. Stop listening to all these new horrid superficial pieces-of-shit bands and listen to music for a change.

Ok Lets keep this simple. I bet many of you people are confuse. Pop-punk is just punk but in a softer and more way of understanding what the lyrics is. Most of the time it doesnt contain any political lyric or agression. Its mostly based on love. Obiously the music is a lot different from actual punk. 3 strings guitar for punk. Vocalist goes way fast u may not even understand it. While pop punk is basically pop with a little influence of punk. Most pop-punk bands sell out to the media or ***sound poppy*** because many people like the tune..........I could understand if u like it because its easier to understand. Punk is still more intelligent more and more conterversial. Awesome lyrics knowing whats going on in today's society. Usually kids who tend to like pop-punk are more trendy and fashinable with patches everywhere on some fabric. No you dont need to be wearing different type of clothing in order to be what you are. Punk- The Partisans, Global Threat, GBH, The Unseen, Anti Flag, Black Flag,Rancid(ska-punk), Operation Ivy(same as Rancid)e.t.c.
