A form of folk music which finds its earliest roots in Changes, a band consisting of Nicholas Tesluk and Robert N. Taylor, both members of The Process Church at the time, around the early 1970s. Their songs dealt with personal themes, as well as apocalypse and mythology, and were sometimes inspired by the duo's favorite books ("Fire of Life", for example, was inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche's "Thus Spake Zarathustra").

During the early 1980s, following the heyday of the band Throbbing Gristleand the explosion of Industrialmusic, many bands related to the industrial scene began to develop a neofolk sound. Current 93, an experimental noise project headed by David Tibet, dropped noise music for a medieval sounding folk style with the release of the Album "Thunder Perfect Mind". To this day, David Tibet is well known for his dramatic falsetto voice and lyrics dealing with the occult

There are many variations of Black Metal. Some examples:
First Wave of Black Metal (aka Old School): A lot of similarities with Thrash Metal, but the Black Metal is obvious.
Second Wave of Black Metal: Modern-sounding BM.
Black Metal: There is no point in redefining it, since virtually every definition above this, has been dealing with that particular style of BM.
Raw Black Metal: usually very monotonous, unmelodic, with very bad production, and cheaply printed releases.
NSBM: Stands for Nationalist Socialist Black Metal. Is defined by the lyrics, as opposed to music. Lyrics usually deal with various forms of nationalism, racial supremacy, and hate. Often also incorporates such themes as paganism, and the war against Judeo-Christianity.
Folk Black Metal: Any Black Metal with folk melodies or instruments used. Sometimes deals with the same concepts as NSBM.
Viking Black Metal: Any Black Metal with lyrics about vikings. Sometimes uses folk elements.
Symphonic Black Metal: This form of BM is very far from the origins of the genre, often sounding like extreme metal (as opposed to BM), it is uncommon for bands in this category to use an orchestra, or separate orchestral instruments.
Un-Black Metal: Any Black Metal dealing with Christianity (in a positive manner).
Death/Black: There is no uniform definition of that, but basically anything that uses elements of death and black metal together.

The Vice Lords are the oldest and second largest black street gang in the Chicago area. It was originally formed in the late 1950s as a club in the Illinois State Training School for Boys in St. Charles. As "club" members were released, several relocated to the Lawndale area of Chicago. They gained recognition as a gang during this time. Their main area of power remains the West-side of Chicago. Since the original formation numerous breakaway factions have formed. These factions now operate throughout the city of Chicago and outlying areas. Each faction has its own distinctive name and leader.

reffering to black people, derives from the term nigger, which was used by slave massa's in the 40's and 50's and early 60's, otherwise known as the, "whippin days"

In the song, "Whip It" by Devo, there is a big hint into the, "Whipping Days" as in where white people would whip the Africans until they picked more cotton, and more watermelon, and ate more KFC.
