look up any word, like bootylicious:
1. gun control
A political issue dividing the United States for which there are two main stances.

Pro Control Stance: A necessity in a country in which the Vice President manages to shoot someone in the face, "on accident."

Anti Control Stance: Owning a gun is great way to keep overbearing government and thiefs out of your home. Unfortunately, this is entirely useless in a country in which the government has weapons far beyond the scope of any law abiding citizen.

Philosophy behind the argument: Some people argue that this could be a "hands-off" issue for our politicians. That is, people who want guns can have them, people who don't can not own one. However, the armed will always have superior influence over the peaceful. Naturally, everyone must have the ability to defend themselves equally within the law. This is why we have law enforcement officials and courts. Armed citizenship undermines legal procedure. So, the decision boils down to vigilante justice or structured justice. One is quicker yet more dangerous, one is slower yet controllable.

Solution: Take the government's weapons and give them to the citizens. That way every private citizen has the ability to bomb the crap out of people they don't like. It's the American way.
Dick Cheney doesn't favor Gun Control because then he couldn't shoot his friends in the face.
2. Earth and Beyond
Also known as EnB, E&B, EB.. Earth and Beyond used to be a Space MMORPG made by Westwood Studios, but EA took control of the project after by buying Westwood. The game was on for 2years and then EA decided to close it, giving players/customers no chance to play the game again (there are various emu projects going on though).
"Come on Frank, lets go play EnB. I have to level my Progen Sentinel"
"I can't now, I'm working on secret nightclub song for Earth and Beyond!"
(refering to frank klepacki, a good composer)
3. force majeure
Literally, French for "greater force" and in older contracts, an "act of God"- an event beyond human control, such as weather, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc. In insurance and travel contracts, this is the "weasel phrase" meaning "shit happens", or at greater length, "it's out of our hands, so we don't have to do anything for you" - if your flight is cancelled because of weather, it is considered to be cancelled because of force majeure and in most cases you are SOL for lodging, meals etc. until they can arrange to get you out on another flight, perhaps days later.
From one airline's "Conditions of Carriage":

FORCE MAJEURE EVENTS
American (Airlines) may, in the event of a force majeure event, without notice, cancel, terminate, divert, postpone or delay any flight or the right of carriage or reservation of traffic accommodations without liability except to issue an involuntary refund. The involuntary refund will be made in the original form of payment in accordance with involuntary refund rules for any unused portion of the ticket. American will also reserve the right to determine if any departure or landing should be made without any liability except the afore mentioned involuntary refund.

Force Majeure Event Means:

Any condition beyond American's control including, but without limitation, meteorological conditions, acts of God, riots, civil commotion, embargoes, wars, hostilities, disturbances or unsettled international conditions - actual threatened or reported. Also, because of any delay, demand, circumstances or requirement due, directly or indirectly to such conditions, or
Any strike, work stoppage, slowdown, lockout or any other labor related dispute involving or affecting American's service, or
Any government regulation, demand or requirement, or
Any shortage of labor, fuel or facilities of American or others, or
Any fact not reasonably foreseen, anticipated or predicted by American.
