Intellectual ballache 

Inability to express yourself for fear of drowning the recipient.

The sufferer has too much to say and fear that he or she will not be understood and that the recipient will feel overwhelmed.

I was on a date with a really cute, but not too clever, guy yesterday. I suffered from intellectual ballache throughout the date. He is not used to dating academics.

Ballachulish bagpipes 

A medical instrument used in the Scottish highlands, up to the early `60´s, to assist in consitpation. It consisted of a large rubber sphere with a 6 inch tube attached. The sphere was filled with luke-warm water and a little amount of liquid soap. The tube would then be attached and pushed gently up your bottom and the contents emptied into your bowels.............the rest came naturally and very quickly.

I got this treatment of the Ballachulish bagpipes as a small child a couple of times.
