n. The state of tagging along on a date in which you are not the only one tagging along. Normally this would not be a problem unless you are already dating someone and have no intention of cheating. This is the rare opportunity where there are TWO awkward third wheels. Take the following example: Dude, I was totally an awkward fourth wheel on Pete's date with Chelsea because Lauren was sick. Chelsea brought a friend but she was shit ugly plus I have a girlfriend.

A date for prom/other social gathering that asks you to go with them and then disappears into obscurity and avoids contact with the person they asked until said event. The end result is a very awkward situation that makes the receiver of the date request wonder why they even said yes in the first place. Dude 1: "Dude 2, who's Pam going to prom with?"
Dude 2: "Ummm, I have no idea Dude 1, I think its Chad" Dude 1: "Oh yeahh, Chad asked her like two weeks ago but they haven't seemed to talk since..." Dude 2: "That's mad awk man, hes such a Deadbeat date to her." |

girl #2: oh, it was alright, except all we did were things i said i liked to do in my "about me.." & the only music we listened to in his car were bands i listed in my music section, also strangely, he told me all his favorite movies as if he were listing them off my movies section.. girl #1: oh, so basically it was a network date.. girl #2: yeah, i don't think i'm going out with him again. |
