also known as Solo II racing-- the SCCA brand name for autocross competition. Solo II events are driving skill contests that emphasize the driver's ability and the car's handling characteristics. This is accomplished by driving a course that is designated by traffic cones on a low hazard location, such as a parking lot or inactive airstrip. Autocross is the true grassroots motorsport.

an efficient and highly addictive legal function used for (1) drastically reducing the tread life of a set of tires, (2) mercilessly destroying orange cones and (3) ruining a vehicle's alignment. I had a blast shredding a set of economy radials in 8 runs at last week's autocross.
