A software program created for those who have absolutely no musical talent whatsoever, used by idiots who wouldn't know what real music was, even if it kicked them in the head repeatedly. Also applies to someone who believes music that relies on this technology is actual music, even though they are uneducated as to what real music takes to make.
"Did you hear (insert untalented "artists" name here, usually an egotistical rap "artist" who has no IDEA what music is)'s new "song"? He can't sing, so he relies on Auto-Tune to make him feel better about himself".

Auto-Tune
Pitch-correction software that's been plaguing the music industry, mainly pop and hip-hop. Was created in the late 90's, and the first song to use it was Cher's hit "Believe". It was a novelty back then, but as time went on and talentless hacks like T-Pain have made the practice of drowning their voices in it popular, it's now both extremely overused and also allows pretty much any random schmuck to have a hit song in no time.

It is used to disguise inaccuracies and mistakes, and – due to its increasing use in modern music – has allowed many artists to produce more precisely tuned recordings. While Auto-Tune is only one out of many commercial pitch correction packages, auto-tune is frequently used in the media as a blanket term to describe any audio processing with a similar effect, perhaps because it was the first product allowing pitch correction in real time.
