A person who is known to have autism. Characterized by repetative movements such as hand flapping, rocking, or banging of the head. Some autistic people have speech delays, trouble concentrating and difficulties with the emotional ques of other people. Some autistics have above average intelligence with minimal issues as stated above.
To be autistic is a challenge for not just the person with autism but the entire family envolved. It is highly misunderstood and has no cure. Mother of a child with autism.
I encourage others to please read up on autism and make yourself aware of the signs. Early intervention will have the biggest impact on an autistics life. |

| 2. | Autism Speaks | ||
|
A company founded in 2005 by bob and suzanne wright after hearing the devastating news that their grandson christian was diagnosed with autism and so they were hell bent on finding a cure so they can bring their son back from the dead from their own delusional world. This company is despised by many autistics like me because of their idea of curing autism and autism being tragic because it destroys marriages, bankrupts their families, and the use of biomedical treatment to possibly harm or kill autistics. Autism speaks speaks all lies about autistics in saying we are tragic and are responsible of the destruction of our parent's marriages and causing them to go bankrupt but in reality that's all lies because we learn how to love our parents and be able to enjoy life unlike what autism speaks says in their autism every day video. Autism speaks can go to hell for all I care because of their idea to cure autism for good and without it there would be no me anymore.

A way of being for a person with autism. Autism is not a disease. A lot of people feel desperately sorry for autistic people, and look for a cure, because autistics find empathising/conversing difficult. Many autistics are good at other things such as maths/physics, and rembering lots of information. Around 1 in 10 autistics show savant abilities, which may mean they can do VERY fast maths, or play a song they've heard once on a musical instrument without tution, and a variety of others.
A lot of people are oblivious to the concept of autistic adults, only thinking of autism being about children. This is not the case and many autistic adults (such as myself) have jobs and contribute to society like everyone else, and they are not always "high functioning". Some Autistic people want to be cured, and that's fine if it's what they really want. However, there are plenty of autistic people who would rather not edit themselves to conform to society's narrow defintion of "normal", of which I am one. The vast majority of people know nothing about autistic people who are HAPPY the way they are, which is a shame. Pro-sure: "Oh look at that poor autistic child, his life must be so awful because he's different."
Anti-cure: "It's very likely Einstein was autistic, as well as a whole host of other people throughout history. How about appreciating autistic people for they are, not who you wish they were?" |

| 5. | Nitter | ||
|
A derogatory term used among some Autistics and Aspies (people with Asperger Syndrome) to refer to a Neurotypical (derived from the abbreviation NT; NT-er; Nitter). Dont worry about the people writing definitions on here about Asperger Syndrome being a fake disorder invented by people to justify being losers; they're nothing but a bunch of goddamn nitters

| 6. | Autism | ||
|
A serious and very real developmental disorder characterized by impaired social interaction, restricted and repetitive interests and impaired communication.
Victims of autism suffer from severe mindblindness (complete lack of empathy) and often live in their own world. A disorder where over 75% of those diagnosed today do not actually have it. Those who actually suffer from the disorder want to be cured and are quite upset by the mass of fake autistics running around claiming otherwise. I have severe autism. I began receiving SSI as a child, I attend Voc Rehab and will never be able to live on my own. I spent years in hospitals and institutions because of my autism.
