Hull is a glorious city in the north east of England overlooking the beatiful river Humber.

This of course is probably the biggest outright lie I have ever told in my life. Hull is infact the epicenter of hate and stupidity. The Humber bridge is considered as a marvellous feat of engineering by some. But by most it is either the "Road to Hell", or the "Gateway to Hell". Hull is a disgustingly dirty grey city. The buildings are ugly, old, and probably made in the 50's and were designed to last 20 years. There is not a single spark of artistic styling to Hull. There are no shops of merit, no restaurants to speak of, and the best place to stay is the no-star Hotel Campanile on the side of a busy A-Road. But theres a reason to why this city is so ugly and desolate. Theres a reason why the place is such a dump, such a putrid pit of filth. And that's because the inhabitants get what they deserve, they inhabitants of Hull deserve what they get. Hull is ugly, because if it wasn't, no one there would notice it. There is no artisitic or architectural beauty in the city, because the inhabitants of Hull are so brain numbeningly stupid, they couldn't recognise the Mona Lisa or the Great Pyramids. The Education System in Hull is the worst in the whole of Britain. This is a fact, every league table says so. The schools may as well be labeled "Degenerate Factory" and sponsored by McDonald's. But who's fault is this? The governments? The teachers? The kids? It's not, the fau... |

The goth, that thing that lies at the opposite end of the spectrum of society to the chav.

A goth will walk alone where a chav will hide inside his herd and though the goth may take a beating at least that goth was never a coward. A goth will insult only those who have earnt it whereas a chav will insult people for things as shallow as the clothes they are wearing. A goths insult will be witty and cutting, a chavs insult more often than not will consist of the chav making a repulsive noise. A goth will enrich their mind, a chav will watch soaps. In the morning, a goth will ask themselves “what do I want to wear?” whilst a chav will ask themselves “what in this selection of clothes is the most acceptable thing to wear?” A goth will have a friend because they are good for someone, a chav will have a friend because that someone is good for them. A goth approaches new situations with a willingness to think and find the best way forward, a chav will react with aggression to that which it does not already know. A goth will listen to music that is meaningful to their life and thought provoking, a chav will listen to music which will tell him how to behave. Goths have no interest in popularity whatsoever. They think outside the box. People aspire to be popular and dress in certain ways that are ‘in’ with everyone else simply because it has never occurred to them how pointless societies values really are. In truth, there was never any point to any one of us being born. W... |

A Goth is someone who likes the different side of things. They have their own choice in music, and they don't care if no-one else likes it or not. "Real" goths are not depressing and suicidal like the posers you see around town. Goths are fun to be around with and aren't afraid to laugh at themselves every so often. They don't all worship Satan and aren't evil despite what some ignorant people might say. Goths don't dress alike either. They like to create their own unique style. Goths are also very intelligent and creative. A lot of them are writers and artists. Goths DON'T envy the popular people. They are what they are because it makes them happy. Goths would rather stay who they are and be among the so called "freaks" than be like everyone else and be popular. They understand that there are more important things in life than popularity, and usually succeed in life while the popular ones don't become much of anything.

If someone becomes "goth" because they couldn't get any friends or are depressed and angry all the time, they are posers. A goth will walk alone where a chav will hide inside his herd and though the goth may take a beating at least that goth was never a coward. A. the best 4 years of their lives B. good for you However, in all actuality it is a system of prisons cleaverly decorated with pee-yellow walls, faulty lights, air-conditioners that never seem to be turned on at the right time of the year, and heaters with a blazing high temperature of 55 degrees. There are many elements of high school, but seeing as many have already explained the social aspects, i will dwell annoyingly on the educational aspects. ~school overview~ educational officials, or teachers, "teach", or rather make you memorize facts, figures, rules, and many other things that they claim "will be very useful to you in the future" however, 95% of this information is utterly useless, and completely forgotten the second you walk out of the classroom. teachers usually emphasise becoming an individual, independent, free-thinking, creative member of society by forcing you to conform to their standards. ~Math Department~ teachers teach you about numbers, tables, charts, and other mathmatical things. in the early education years, the information seems relevant enough (multiplication, money, charts etc.) but, proceeding through the school years, the information becomes ludicris and exceedingly diffucult to understand, much less pronounce. ~Social Department~ established to teach about the world around us. the teacher repeats the phrase " we learn about history so we can learn from our mistakes" constantly and ove... |

In covering those four bases, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is not only providing one of the very best interactive Star Wars experiences, but it's tapped into the very soul of the Star Wars universe that drew hundreds of millions of fans to the franchise in the first place. Developed by Bioware, Knights of the Old Republic is stronger with The Force than any George Lucas-powered movie that's come out in the last 20 years and lands on the Xbox as one of the very best titles the system has to offer.

There's tons of character development, a combat probability system and a giant inventory to manage, so I guess KOTOR gets clearance as a role-playing game. But as both an RPG and a Star Wars title, it strikes a marvelous balance of hardcore authenticity and accessibility for the uninitiated. Pen and paper players can check the log of dice rolls used to calculate the success rate of every trigger pull or lightsaber swing. Freddy Fanboy can geek out for hours at how well the Jawa language has been adapted for a videogame. And even the coolest of the cool hip kids will be able to see the appeal of swinging double lightsabers and choking fools from across the room. It all begins with a rock solid story that really does begin a long long time ago.... Everything you need to become the next Dark Lord of the Sith or the savior of the Republic! Character creation, leveling up, how to choose your path to Light or Darkness, weapons, items, the art of conversation, and mini-ga... |

| 28. | the windy city | ||
|
As you already may know, "the windy city" was actually a phrase used by the city of Chicago to promote their breezey beaches. LATER, a writer for the New York times used it as an insult for the boastful manner of Chicagoans during the world's fair. It has also been used to describe their politicians, whose lies and false promises have lead people to say they are "full of wind." So if a know-it-all tool says to you, "You know, Chicago isn't called 'the windy city' because it's windy," you can say, "Fuck you. Yes it is."
