| 57. | Godzilla | ||
|
A movie monster that is supposed to be some sort of radioactive dinosaur but in reality has all the qualities of a giant newt, including amphibious habits, a slow and clumsy gait, a cute face, and the ability to regenerate.
The original Godzilla film, which was originally entitled Gojira in native Japan, was a cheesy, exploitative B-grade movie with an iron-fisted and rather pedestrian attempt at social commentary. It was followed by 26 redundant and largely unimganative sequels, a terrible American remake, and countless fans who somehow think that this was a better example of the craft of movie-making and artistic siginificance than "King Kong" (1933). Do you want to watch a truly horrifying movie that is a warning about nuclear warfare? Watch "The Day After" (1983). Godzilla is pure escapism.

People With Original Thoughts.

A group of 5 Canadian teenagers, bored with not belonging to any premade label at their local high school, decided to make their own. Characterized by crazed personal fashion, an ability to make their own decisions, generally having fun times without substance abuse and a love for diabetic cookies and shopping carts, they can often be found in and around their High School, usually making lots of noise and alienating the preps and woop-woops. When confronted by a pwot, the best idea would be to run quickly, before being sucked into the wonderful void of originatilty and general good times that will most likely ensue. Character traits exhibited by many, but not all, of the pwots include the following; a love for brightly coloured clothing, intelligence, yearning to be an (underwear) model, hotness, musicianship, artistic-ness, strong Christian beliefs, lack of substance usage, loudness, attention loving, and general awesomeness. Common hangouts of the pwots include the mall, random areas in their high school, Tim Hortons, the residential streets surrounding their high school, the diabetic co... |

Secular Humanism is a term which has come into use in the last thirty years to describe a world view with the following elements and principles:
more...
A conviction that dogmas, ideologies and traditions, whether religious, political or social, must be weighed and tested by each individual and not simply accepted on faith. Commitment to the use of critical reason, factual evidence, and scientific methods of inquiry, rather than faith and mysticism, in seeking solutions to human problems and answers to important human questions. A primary concern with fulfillment, growth, and creativity for both the individual and humankind in general. A constant search for objective truth, with the understanding that new knowledge and experience constantly alter our imperfect perception of it. A concern for this life and a commitment to making it meaningful through better understanding of ourselves, our history, our intellectual and artistic achievements, and the outlooks of those who differ from us. A search for viable individual, social and political principles of ethical conduct, judging them on their ability to enhance human well-being and individual responsibility. A conviction that with reason, an open marketplace of ideas, good will, and tolerance, progress can be made in building a better world for ourselves and our children. --------------------- How Do Secular Humanists View Religious and Supernatural Claims? | 61. | manele | ||
|
"manele" , sg "manea" Unfortunate mixture of influences of Gipsy. Turkish, Arabic, Romanian & Greek traditional music and pop music, of no artistic value. Has been popular in the last decade in Romania and other countries from Eastern Europe, but lastely is starting to lose ground.
Most of the Manele lyrics are illogic, gramatically incorrect and basically consist of the "big guy" braging about his wealth and "value", about his (probably in his dreams!) ability to pick up chicks,while wishing his ennemies to die of jealousy, or lamely whining about his chick who has left him and deserted his heart. Interprets of manele distinguish themselves by having freaky and ridiculous stage names such as "Sorin the Golden Kid" or Vali the Storm" (in Romanian it sounds a lot worse, believe me!!!!) and by wearing totally unstylish/non-matching clothes in manner of gangsta wannabees (pathetic wanabees, I mean!), big and equally unstylish gold jewleries and at least one ton of hair gel. A singer or fan of manele is called "manelist"; someone who hates them is "antimanelist"-in Romania, the puyblic oppinion is mostly divided among those two groups. "Antimanelisti" are usually emo, goth, punk, hipsters or simply smart guys A lot of radio stations and TV chains in Romania refuse to play manele

A person (perferably a man, a woman on occasion) who is cool, smart, and silent, always wearing sunglasses. When people look at him, they are blinded from his brilliance. His (or possibly her) artistic skills are amazing and his ability to read minds make all respect him(or possibly her) Patrick: I want to be a Mr Sun when I grow up
Kenny: I laugh at you cuz I'm already a Mr Sun Patrick: Damnit |

| 63. | equestrian | ||
|
A person who works very hard with horses and at the sport of riding horses. A good equestrian is usually a very hardworking person who is completely commited to the sport of riding and the animals(horses/ponies) that he or she rides. Often stereotyped as being snobby and rich the equestrian is usually overlooked as a person who partakes in sports/ physical activity. Equestrians need to have the concentration and ability to judge distance like a golfer, strength and stamina of a hockey player, artistic flow and ability to make a hard thing look easy and beauiful like a gymnest, and and also know where everyone around them is at all times ALL WHILE controlling a 1000lb or more animal with your hands, back, neck, shoulders, thighs, calves, legs, heels, stomach, or basically every bone/muscle in your body with the help of a 5 inch piece of metal. "Riders use their entire bodies to tell their horse what they want them to do; the way they sit, move their hands, the pressure of their legs...dosens of signals pass between horse and rider, at every moment"-Horse Power: The Road To Maclay. To be an equestrian you have to know the sport in and out and be able to work as a team with your animal. A talented equestrian knows her horse as well as she knows her best friend if not better. Maria is a very talented equestrian, everyday she goes to the barn to ride and work with hers and other peoples horses.
Someone once told me that i wasn't a true equestrian because my parents have money, but trust me when i say that when i get to the barn my horse couldn't care less about how much money i have in the bank |
