Aruba Syndrome

An inability to fully enjoy a vacation or a scenic destination due to the absence of one's partner. Commonly happens to individuals traveling alone in resort destinations aimed at couples, such as Aruba or Fiji.

"The hotel was out of rooms, so they put me in the honeymoon suite. It was awesome, but I couldn't really enjoy it since Jodie wasn't there and I had severe Aruba syndrome"

Aruba Syndrome

The inability to fully enjoy a vacation or scenic destination due to the absence of one's significant other. Commonly experienced by individuals who are in love.

"While on vacation alone, my hotel gave me a free upgrade to its best honeymoon suite with a full ocean view. Although it was beautiful, I couldn't truly enjoy it; instead, I only missed my boyfriend that much more. It was a classic case of Aruba Syndrome."

Verb: refers to a heated debate whereby a participant quickly becomes offended and retaliates in a personal/argumentative manner and the conversation quickly turns nasty.

Beverly: "In my opinion, I think prostitution is disgusting"
Violet: "Yes, but that's your opinion... I don't agree"
Beverly: "That's probably because you'll do anything for a free drink"
Violet: "At least I get attention from men, you ugly whore"

And so an argument progresses, i.e. an argubate.

High, blasted or wasted.
